Hey all! Haven't posted one in a while so I thought I'd throw one down. I've got some work to do on this, but here it is in its current state. : ) http://soundcloud.com/samarich/light

That sounds pretty dang good. How was the 12 string recorded? Good job on the vocals too, it gave me a Rush vibe. Then a Boston vibe, great guitar work at the end, very Shultz-esque.

Nice one! I was not expecting the killer shred at the end.

Thanks Robbie! That beginning part was just a double tracked 6 string with harmonies in a couple sections. I just used a condenser by the 12th fret angled toward the sound hole. I appreciate the compliment on the vocal, especially coming from you. And I love Boston, so if I came off sounding a little like Tommy Sholz, I'm okay with that! Thanks for listening, Robbie, and for the comments!

That was pretty dang awesome and some nice playing. Loved the shred at the end and everything was LOUD and clear. Great song with some awesome vocals. Nice one in deed!! Peace and Blessings, John

Excellent, love this song. Very.....Maples and Oaks beginning on the acoustics. Vocals were well done, they had a Boston feel for me as well, yet still very much your own. Great message of course.

I was thinking 'Yes' at first or maybe 'Kansas' influenced, really liked the intro. Good song.

John, thank you for listening and for all the kind words. Yes, it is loud.:) That was one of the tweaks I was gonna make. It's a little too compressed in the heavier section. Thanks again John!

Loved that intro, real classic rock sound. Then it KICKED IN! You have a superb rock voice, and this song suits you perfectly. Enjoyed this, start to finish..guitars are sublime btw.

Good one, a little compressed on the heavy section as you mentioned, but, what an outstanding performance. Killer solo at the end, only problem is it ended too soon, I think you could have gone at least a minute on the solo in the classic 70's style;) Scholtz would have gone at least 2 minutes, i.e. Hitch a Ride... Regards

Well thanks MakeShift! This is the first song I've ever posted that has given people a Boston vibe. :) Very unintentional, but very cool! I love Boston. Thanks a lot for the comments and thanks for listening!

Man, I really appreciate that James. I have never been very comfortable with my voice, but since I don't have a real singer on hand, I'm stuck with myself. :) I'm happy that you liked the song. Thank you very much for listening to it and for all your kind words!

Hi Mark, thanks for all the kind words man. Yeah, I'll get that heavier part under control. Just hitting the limiter a little too hard. :) You're right, the song is kinda short. Maybe I'll throw down some more leads on the end. :) Thanks for the feedback, and thanks for checking it out!

Unbelievable, I thought I was listening to Journey for a moment. You remind me more of Steve Perry than the singer for Boston. Either way, this song is a great production of hard rock music. Superb playing and singing. Encore!

Wow! Sounds great! The intro acoustic guitar recorded really clearly with some nice tones. The song sounds excellent. Well played and mixed. What did you use for equipment? Wish the solo out was a lot longer. Good job! rebel

Thank you Rebel! I really appreciate all the kind words. As far as equipment, nothing extravagant. A cheap Fender acoustic, a Rode NT1-A mic, an old Focusrite Voicemaster channel strip, an Epiphone LP bass, my old '78 Gibson SG, and a Line 6 POD HD Pro. I was using Sonar X1 Expanded at the time.(X3 Pro now) Drums were Kitcore and cymbals were Zildjian Gen16 software. Glad you liked it, and thanks again!
