Didn't we start on that yesterday and I got into trouble because I said Lennon was a philosopher!!!

It seems the older we get the more closed-minded we become.

Yup, I take less and less notice of broad generalisations as time goes on.  Something experience has taught me along the way.

Girl--actually I like the song.  It sometimes annoys me is when John "sighs" every time during the chorus.  It sounds like he's taking a toke on a joint.  (How's that for a 1970 reference?")  It's not that I hate it--it's just that we get the idea after the first few times.

Should auld acquaintance be forgot--hey, who the hell are you guys?

[quote/]And no I am not being superior but the firstt thing we are told as academics is DONT USE WIKIPDIA!!

Actually, have had a lot of success with sources like Wikipedia as (indirect) reference material, both in my dissertation work, and in my job as a human factors, and advanced spacecraft and aircraft display concepts pilot and researcher.  The key is to look at THEIR source material, and decide for yourself whether or not it's valid.  This is why I caveated my reply with "albeit after a short search".  I'd be suspect of any academician who told me "first thing, never use" a widely used public knowledge source - my response would be to use it, first thing...

It's Beatles not Rod.

Just saw this and thought I should just Let It Be (the album the song is on), but then I realized I'd already thought too much.

Hmm.  At the risk of sounding antagonistic (which is not my intent), there's only one Beatles song I like, and that's 'Think for Yourself' on Rubber Soul.  Even then, for me the song is average but the harmonies on the verse lines are terrific - which Jack White uses in a lot of his bands.

Sorry.  I have the same problem with Elvis if that helps to balance things...

don`t you just love the net-have had a week off for surgery with no Wi-Fi--- grrrr
and the first post I read was this:

"Ben is in the running for the..

Moshkaie Award for Completely Over the Top Bludgeoning Home of a Point about a Favourite Band Which No-one was Actually Disputing Anyway.

Or, the MACOTBHOPAFBWNWADAs ."

almost lost some stitches at the irony of my 2 "least favourite posters" being referenced in one paragraph-classic stuff.
thanks for the larf.
cheers

Can't say I really have a least favourite Beatles song as I do like them all, but on occasions, I do tend to skip "She loves you".
