ive installed  and updated and it seems like everythings ok. old projects etc.
 
The editor says ver 1.0 / 2008 so its about time for a facelift for this one.
 
I want to be able to make a monitormix or several outside of sonar with eq and some reverb with no latency - for the musicians.

Yeah just let us know, please! Yes or no...Will there be this kind of update SOON  or just NEVER.


We all have put our faith (and money...) in your products and expertise so I think it would be fair to let us know....  That would make a near perfect system in my point of view... The shorter latency is indeed a very good surprise.

yes its possible that this is just for the hardware and the instruments time will show :-I
 
Anyway Ive purchased the octa capture, nice stand alone or together with the v-studio

The octa capture is 5000.- Norwegian kroner = its about 500 gbp or 610 euro
It arrives in about two weeks.
 
I would not by two VS700R - i use a Presonus digimax FS to expand my v-studio r via adat give 8 more inputs  
if money isnt the option i would still get the OCTA :-)

Seems we are out of luck guys.  The V Studio 700 has hardware limitations that prevent ADAT monitoring.  That is not confirmed by a Roland engineer, so there may still be a chance, but my gut tells me the good fight is over.  I'm sure if it was possible, they would have included it in the new drivers.  This is disappointing news. 

What if you use the ADAT out to a digital capable mixer or distribution amp? Headphone distribution amps aren't cheap but they do exist. I priced them once and decided I could do without.

The octa has arrived and ive just tested it om my imac an it worked flawlessly at once.
This weekend i will test the Octa together with my vs700R and my Pesonus digimax through adat  for 29 ins and 34 outs!!!
 
Ill dont think ill ever need all the ins and outs :-) but it wil be a nice test
 
I must say its very handy perfect together with a laptop or an imac / macpro.
 
Nice reverb on the direct mix,(A) not on direct mix (B,C,D) 
Easy routing of the ins and outs

I think it will also be good for on site recording wellt thats my aim anyway to be able to use it in the studio and also put it in a flight case and go out and record on location if need be :)
