LiveSynth Pro (Where is it?)

Recently updated to Sonar 4 Producer. Looking for my original Live Synth Pro.
Was it on version 3:00 ????
Can't seem to find it on that disk. Anybody got a copy they want to share or where can I get it. I think someone told me it's on the 3:00 Sonar disk but I haven't found it. What am I missing here??

I use Sonar 4 and still have Live Synth Pro. But when I upgraded I did not remove my previous versions of Sonar.

Live Synth seems to have disappeared, and gone out of business, leaving no one the ability to support it. Most people who didn't get it into their system (like myself) have gone to sfz, another free font player, which works quite well.

Bummer about LiveSynthPro. I loved it. I even BOUGHT it. Since they're out of business, it wouldn't be a crime to share copies, would it. I'll send it to you if you'd like...

Technically yes, it still is a crime. Even though John Lennon is dead, somebody owns the rights . . .

Well if someone owns the rights.. would they please be kind enough to let us know who they are so that we can get updates and downloads for registered users...
Bit like releasing a John Lennon back catalogue really

This gives a good reason why activation keys are a bad idea... can you imaginge if Livesynth had been an activated product... how many people would be knackered if they had to reinstall...

No site == No key == No Program == No music !!

This was undoubtedly the best Software Synth for the Sonar range of programs.
I'm just sad that I didn't appreciate it at the time I was a Sonar 1 user but I have been a SB Live user for years and have only now decided to upgrade my soundcard to a professional multi input card and thought I had nothing to do but buy the full version of LiveSynth Pro.
Wouldn't it be great if Sonar's designers could emulate it and offer it as a plugin before a serial number gets posted on one of the crack sites. Or maybe that's already happened??

    I've mentioned it before...

LS Pro is not multi-thread safe so it doens't work with multi-processor systems and it is not sample accurate.

If you don't care about things being loose timing wise and only have a single processor then you're all good.

VSampler is a better choice albeit more cumbersome. However it has the advantage of being able to load up other sounds like Akai, Giga, WAV's and HAL's.

    Peace,

Take your 3.0 install disk and run the install up to the point where it allows you to choose what you're installing. You can then uncheck everything except LiveSynth Pro and install it.

Same way you would get livesynth back, but off of S3. I hope you got your activation # handy tho. Just put the S3 disk in and when it asks you the different things you want to install, don't check nothing but that damn Vsampler. To me that thing is not worth the energy of opening the jewel case to get the disk out. By the way when all off y'all lost the obvious you also lost all the other stuff S4 did not include, I hope y'all have noticed that...............JDW

I have to agree with everyone and I was one of the last of the diehards to take the VSampler learning curve plunge. It has been about two months now and I was up and running on VSamp comfortably about 1 month 3 weeks and 5 days ago. Livesynth was buggy and was not sample accurate as greenlee says but it was easy to use and I was familiar with all its workings. Well V-Sampler is 100 times the software and does not get all tempermental. Take the plunge recording time is rolling and your wasting it....<g>

I myself do not worry about the Vsampler or Livesynth really because I just really use Piano ,Organ, drums and some brass as far as samples go. I don't own Giga so what I use are the PMI Bosendorfer 290 Piano, NI B3 and NI Battery 2. The 3 of these only set me back a little over $500 and I've done this incramentaly. A dollar at a time practicaly. But it also gives me what I consider some of the most realistic samples avalable with full control of things like velocty and aftertouch. Also I am able to freeze different ones to free up cpu. Those old Sonar disc's do have a wealth of neat stuff on them tho that disappears with a upgrade. I just pulled Cyclone off of S2 the other day, now that is a fine little easy use sampler IMHO. And what about the Timeworks compressor, delay and mastering EQ. Those are some usefull gems from the past. In fact the TC website has some extra presets for them, for free. Vsampler is not bad I guess, just to me a lot of hassle for what you get on the learning curve and I don't think Taz gives away anything. Just my 2 cents worth................JDW

Problem is it doesn't have a check box. So do I have to unload my sonar 4 load sonar three load the vsampler then unload 3 and load 4 back?

I've never tried to put S3 back , OK when it gets to the page of what files you want, Click on the DXIs you should see it. I don't think the actual sampler is on that other disk of sounds? I don't feel like digging but if someone has S3 (the CD) check for him. I really think it is on the install disk tho. I don't want to wake my wife up digging through boxs of CDs, I got 4 and 2 in front of me, because I just pulled some sfuff off of 2. Stick the disk in the drive and go to windows explorer and look for either Vsampler or Speedsoft, its under one of those 2 names I know that.................JDW

Gary, I have some old midi drum files that for some reason will only play back through LiveSynth Pro. I've tried VSampler, SFZ and EmulatorX. None of them work with these files. If you would, I would appreciate a copy of it. I only have the 30 day trial version that came with Sonar 3 Producer.
    Thanks, Wayne
