Izotope's new Dynamic DDLY is quite good, as is the Overloud VKFX Delay, which works well within Sonar's Pro Channel.

What a gem the Izotope Delay is.
I threw it across doubled clean guitar track.
Instant magic!

The OP mentioned vocals...doesn't anyone else use the VX-64? The delay filter curve shown in the screenshot (post #13) is good for vocals - increases intelligibility but doesn't step on other instruments, especially as you turn up the feedback.

Craig... In my opinion the VX-64 is an unsung hero. Really underrated.  I use it all the time and for back ups it really shines.

+ 1 for the sonar included  delays:
1. Sonitus delay - good sound and easy editing
2 .the vx 64 - warm sound , but not that much parameter
3. the nomad bt delays offer a lot of special fx.

It´s not neccessary to buy any
other delay, cause with a bit tweaking you can get
very close to any other delay with the sonar included tools.

Imio the only exception is, mentioned above,
the soundtoxs echoboy which can do things no
other delay can do. in short time.

I find the desser's listen feature very helpful. I typically only use that module and sometimes the tube eq part but I will play with the delay. I just realized the doubler probably gives you instant rap vocal a la 90's Tupac if needed right? ;-)

Sonitus all the way. Great on vocals and just about anything else.

If the VX64 had some more options on the compressor I would use it as my default channel strip for vox. I usually throw it on when writing but when it comes to mixing I end up replacing everything but the doubler.

For delay I use Sonitus, although I love the BlueTube's slap setting for vox as well. Instant Elvis!
