Losing existing drum map when "Convert To Step Sequencer"

I have an existing drum track (using Addictive Drums). I program the drums in the step sequencer. 

When I import a MIDI drum clip (e.g. a fill) and then "Convert To Step Sequencer" so I can edit the clip, I lose the Addictive Drums Drum Map that I use, and the step sequencer defaults to the 3-4 tracks that are used by the clip (e.g. kick, snare, hat). I cannot figure out how to apply the drum map to the new clip, so any help is much appreciated.  I'm wondering if it's able to reassign the one groove clip where I'm doing this the same Drum Map used in the rest of the track?

I'm using Producer 8.5.

    Not sure I understand. When you convert a clip to Step Sequencer with a drum map in place, the drum map note names should show up in the sequencer. If you have another clip that needs to be mapped differently, I think you'll need to put it on a different track with a different drum map, or transpose the notes to match the existing map.

    Hey thanks for the reply, but that's not quite right probably because i didn't explain it very clearly. I will try again: 

    I programmed a drum beat myself using Addictive Drums and the step sequencer. I used an Addictive Drums DM. I wanted to add a preprogrammed MIDI loop from the Addictive Drums library, so I drag & drop the MIDI loop into the same track my current drum sequence is in. The new loop shows up in PRV, but because it's easier for me to edit it in the Step Sequencer, I convert it into Step Sequencer view. When I open up the Step Sequencer to edit this new fill, the Drum Map that is mapped to the rest of the track isn't mapped to this clip. Instead, the Step Sequencer view shows only E(44), F(45), etc. rather than "Bass Drum" "Snare" (as show in the Drum Map).

    What I cannot figure out how to do is extend the Drum Map that is on the user-programmed drum track into this newly Step Sequenced bar.

    Hmmm... I tried to replicate that, but can't. A new clip brought into the track and converted to an SS clip takes on the drum map note names just like the other clip when opened in SS.
     
    Are you sure the Drum Map is covering the note range used by the fill?
