Loud pops during Speed Comping
Version: Platinum 2017.06 "...Select a take you want to audition., Press SHIFT+SPACEBAR to start audition playback. Audition will loop continuously.) I'm getting super loud pops during the playback/Audition of clips in take lanes as if there needs to be a fade at the beginning of the clips. Is anyone else experiencing this? Anyone have a fix? Thanks, D

Hi. This sounds like your audio is not splitted at "zero audio crossing". Try enabling it in Preferences (P), Advances (at the bottom) Customization, Snap To Grid, Snap to Nearest Audio Zero Crossing. All the best.

I have had this issue for many months and have been trying , in vain, to get some resolution, It is a frustrating problem that I can not figure out. I have isolated one cause, although I still get the loud POPS after fixing the problem. I noticed that if I change the sample rate , i.e. 44.1 to 48k on my MOTU 16A sound card, I get the POP! Problem is, even after I adjust for proper rates, I do get the POPS. The POPS are loudest and most frequent when running a loop. After a few minutes of the loop running, i get pops on each start point thereafter. Hello Zargg, my setup does have the snap to nearest audio zero crossings checked.

Nope, no joy. Confirmed it is selected. Thanks though.

Pop in the same place every time? Zoom all the way in on it. What do you see? Does the beginning of your clip start at a zero crossing?

taccess Can you please provide steps to re create this or a video showing what's happening we want to help but are trying to figure out what's causing this .
There are a couple more posts which may or may not be related to your problem which is why we need you to provide as much information as you can .

Thanks
Thanks for the reply. Not sure if it related to the above issues. I don't loose audio after the pops. Very simple process really, I select a clip for speed comping and then shift/space bar to play the audio and it pops at the beginning of the cycle. NOTE: I just realized that it pops at the beginning of every other pass through the loop. That would tell a programmer something I'm sure. https://www.dropbox.com/s/pwdfbe9k2u5yj8f/Capture.PNG?dl=0
