I have Music Creator 2. I have not used it for several years. Recently I've decided to start playing around with music again and I'm trying to find the Cakewalk VST adapter. The Cakewalk page has a link to the patch for the VST adapter, which requires the original VST adapter to be installed but not the original VST adapter. Can anyone help me out and let me know where I can download the original VST adapter?

MC2 is really old.  Are you sure the program will actually run on the computer you have now?  Unless you have a computer with a compatible OS, you might not be able to get it to run properly even after getting the VST adapter.

I'm not a salesman for Cake, however, I would seriously recommend an upgrade to MC7... the latest version.  They have done so many nice things to the software since MC2 was new.  The synths in the newer versions alone are worth the upgrade price.  $50 in the store. And everything you need is there, ready to go and start making music.

If you purchased or received the free upgrade when the product was available for sale and the download is not listed in your store account, please read this thread on how to restore products to your account.

Are you still using Windows 98 or Windows 2000?
MC7 (or the new Music Creator) is just so much capable.  I have to agree that you should seriously consider an upgrade.  It should cost less than $50. to get so much more.

Try the new Home Studio for $50.

Otherwise, MC2 will probably run fine on a newer computer under compatibility mode.
