I appreciate the explanation. But it sounds like you're suggesting that I shouldn't bother asking even if I can't use the software.
You absolutely should make the feature request. The remark was probably more along the lines of don't expect much from the request unless you can get more people with you.
Also, we want to keep the code from getting too messy - that's what got cakewalk / SONAR in trouble, or at least probably, in the first place with the buggy reputation and odd nearly unreproducible errors. So when you talk to anyone that doesn't use Cakewalk, their first response is "I'll never use anything that buggy".
It doesn't matter how many features it has if the perception is that no one can use them (even when that perception is wrong, it is still what keeps Cakewalk from making headway).
If it can be done cleanly, having a resizable interface would be wonderful. I'm using a large 27 Inch display. And I keep a set of "readers" handy. And use the Windows Usability Magnifier feature when needed.
