I think the lack of track strip highlight is related to the ability to change track colors, which is likely why the preference Tak mentioned is tied into it.  When all tracks are the same color (and usually a darker shade of grey) it's fairly simple to define a lighter variation of that one color.   But when every track can be a different color and some of those colors happen to already be light, where do you go from there?

Personally I'd be OK with selecting a single highlight color and going with it.   If that highlight color happens to be similar to or the same as an existing track color and therefore that track doesn't really highlight, that'd be my problem.

I like Stevec's idea... define highlighted track color...

In Manchester, when I look at this dialog:

Edit > Preferences > Customization > Colors

the Save and Delete buttons (diskette and red "X") are positioned right on top of the
[Import] button.

And at the bottom, the Advanced radio button partially overlaps the OK button and the separation line.

Anyone else seeing this?

If you have no need to colorize the entire strip, disable the "Show strip colors" option in Edit > Preferences > Customization > Colors. Disabling it will enable the lighter gray for the focused track.

That's awesome!  Thanks!

Not for me.  The Save and Delete buttons are positioned between the Preferences drop down and the Import Colors button.  Advanced radio button appears positioned normally.

Really? Interesting.
Thanks for the reply.

Edit: Looks like the programmer used different but identical-looking fonts for the same things. I suspect my German version has different naming for some fonts and is using a fallback font when it cannot find one.

Anyway, it's a niche problem, so I won't carry on here. I reported it.

I've also noticed the "delete FX in FX Bin" issue when deleting audio clips.  I usually undo (ctrl-z) immediately afterwards and never really paid attention, or remembered what the track/display configuration was when it happened.  Regardless, it did happen.

There is a whole other thread on this:

I am constantly changing stuff in the wrong PC strip!!! Back in Sonar 8 I had the complete header of the focused track change to a light gold color. Easy to see, even from a distance. I really miss the ability to do that.

+1. Lost 10 minutes yesterday recovering fx order and settings.
