Hello, everybody, I have recently purchased myself the Native instruments Komplete Kontrol S49 with Komplete 10 software. However, I am having problems with getting any sound with it in my Cakewalk Sonar producer DAW software. I have selected my sound card in the audio & recording preferences Audigy 5/RX (as pictured below) & I have also selected them in driver settings as well as selecting ASIO driver mode in playback & recording settings & I am connected to my PC via USB but I just cannot seem to get any sound. When I hit the keys on my controller the sound bars on the master & FX output go up but just not getting any sound. I have included in this post pictures of my setup to give you an idea as to what I might be doing wrongCan anybody please tell me what I am doing wrong please?

I don't mean to sound like an ass but it's almost useless to even troubleshoot ASIO4ALL other than to say "get it off your system" because it's buggy and entirely unreliable even when it's just on your system and you're not using it.

Does your soundcard come with ASIO drivers of its own? If not, have you tried the WDM or even MME ones to see if you at least get sound?

Hi, and welcome to this forum. First of all, I would uninstall ASIO4ALL (it is a WDM wrapper IIRC, and has caused quite a few problems for some people). Reboot, and get the proper ASIO drivers from http://support.creative.com/Products/ProductDetails.aspx?catID=1&CatName=Sound+Blaster&prodID=21723&prodName=Sound+Blaster+Audigy+Rx and install them
Reboot again, and select the audigy 5/rx ASIO drivers in Audio, Devices.
If that does not help, let us know.
All the best.

By the way it looks like you've made a midi track to send midi notes to Absynth, but not an audio track to receive audio from it. Whatever your workflow preferences are, for now try inserting a synth and choosing "simple instrument track".

I thought maybe he had it in the SynthRack, so I did not mention it. But good one

I figure he does, but even then it needs an audio track to get out of the computer.

Thanks for the feedback guys at least now I've got something to go at now. Now that I'm getting feedback & helpful advice from people who know what they are doing :-) looking at my sound card is it possible to connect middi leads directly to my sound card. If so what type are they?

It doesn't look like the Sound Blaster Audigy 5/RX has midi input.  Shouldn't be a problem since the KK S49 connects midi via USB - you'd be better off going down this route whether your soundcard had midi or not.

Looks like you're not the first to have questions relating to your soundcard:-

Just an observation:-

You've invested heavily in Komplete 10 and your Komplete Kontrol S49, but you've neglected to invest in the soundcard.  I don't know if the Audigy can actually do the job or not, however I am sure it's a total lightweight compared to the rest of your system.  It looks like a total mismatch.  If you need advice on an alternative, myself or the others can suggest plenty of options.
