I'm trying to get my Alesis DM10 electronic kit to trigger EZ drummer 2 in Sonar Artist. I've got the drums hooked up to the Midi In of my Audiobox USB.  Ezdrummer 2 works fine in Standalone mode so I know its hooked up correctly. I have a midi track inserted and ezdrummer picked as my effect.  Ezdrummer works if I click each drum with the mouse, but not if I hit the drum pads.  I've got the Audiobox picked as my input and output in MIDI preferences.  I have the Audiobox picked as my track input and Master as my output. I've got the Alesis map selected in EZdrummer.   the Audiobox works fine with Audio btw.  Not sure what I'm doing wrong.

here is my set up.
ASUS laptop 8 gig- 1T harddrive- AMD A10 Quadcore 2.5mhz-- Audiobox USB

Enable "input echo" on the MIDI track.

Hello,

Questions ... What type of track is this on. Audio, Midi, Instrument?. It sounds at first like if it is an Instrument track then the midi portion (that indicates the midi I/O) may be misconfigured.  This could also be true if using this as a separate audio and midi tracks. Is there any midi activity on the tracks when the pads are hit? IHTH...

I Have the input echo on. I guess it's an instrument track. To create the track I go to insert- soft synth-vst2 then pick ez drummer. I have to pick ez drummer as my effect. I arm the track and turn input echo on. Still nothing from pads. Mit doesn't seem like it's getting any data from them. I've checked my connections in the standalone of ez drummer and they are still working ok. It's got to be something within the input & output setttings

Hello,

So... when you choose ez drummer, a dialog box should come up asking to make a simple instrument track. Once you hit ok. In console view the I/O defaults to Omni (none). Change this to the midi port (try Omni for this test) of the interface. At this point when you look at the instrument track (inspector view) the "audio" should be the Midi Omni as the input and master bus as the out.  The "midi" should show the Midi Omni (interface) instance as the In and the EZ drummer as the Out. Can you confirm?

Now we are getting somewhere! I confirm that the midi in is the audiobox midi, the midi out is ez drummer, the instrument in is the audiobox midi in and master bus is the out. I am now getting signal from the pads, but no sounds. The track one levels move, but the master bus levels do not.

Instrument In should be EZDrummer, out to Master.
