pretty clever move from cakewalk to given hobbyist like him (and others) moderator status. Clever move for cakewalk, devastating move for Cakewalk users.
No user is prevented from saying what they want to say. The many posts that are critical, negative, and sometimes unreasonably negative prove that point. I have never deleted a post or banned a member (aside from spambots) and I suspect that's true of most, if not all, of the other moderators. This forum allows for a free exchange of ideas. The moderators cannot, and do not, dictate or control what Cakewalk users
choose to say.
If anywone wants true objectivity on cakewalk products or practice they have too look elsewhere, cause this right here hasnt been a forum for a long time.
Most people here are aware that the mission statement of this forum is "Discussion focused on the use of SONAR Producer, Studio, Essential and Base." So they describe how to use these products, how to fix issues they encounter, and techniques that allow them to make better music. This does not require solely positive posts by any means. For proof, all you need to do is look at the thread titles on the front page. Also look at the threads marked "Solved." This proves the community has accomplished what this forum is meant to do.
Furthermore, most people here know there are
three individual forums for handling complaints/problems: One about problems with the products themselves, one about problems with the Cakewalk store, and one about problems with the forum.
You can slam the moderators because that's your opinion, and therefore you don't need to back it up with facts. That's fine. However, out of the registered users who contribute to this forum, moderators represent
at most one-tenth of one percent. The remaining 99.9% can decide for themselves how objective
you are in assessing their motives for participating in this forum.
Note that I am not defending Cakewalk or the moderators
per se, I am defending this
community which apart from a few people, are constructive and ready to assist other users in "the use of SONAR Producer, Studio, Essential and Base." In fact you have posted in only two threads here, and in one of them, the community came to your assistance, including the company's CTO, in an attempt to help you uninstall the demo program you claim to have downloaded.
Every piece of information they presented to you in that thread was fact-based and objective.
Here's the URL for the thread.
The community is quite tolerant of those who don't post in the correct forums, don't contribute anything helpful to other users, and insult those who use and enjoy the program. However that patience does have limits. Posts that do not relate to the purpose of the forum are simply noise that dilute the efficiency with which users can become more accomplished in creating music with
their tools of choice.
Those who want to complain about how much the community sucks should post in the forum dedicated to opinions, suggestions, and complaints about the forums.
