Hi, all.

I'm having some trouble getting nondestructive fades at the beginning or end of audio clips to work. I click and drag the fade across the clip as desired, and the waveform preview does visually show the change, but when I play it back, the audio remains unaffected. I can draw volume automation on the track, and that works, just not the "slip-fade" function. Also, I am using the TH2 amp sim on the track in question, if that is of any significance.

Has anyone else experienced this behavior/know a solution to the apparent problem?

Thank you!

This issue cam up back in X1 and only affected DAWs running Sandy Bridge processors after Win7 SP1 added support the AVX Instruction set. It was fixed in X1c, so should not be a problem in X3e in any case, but I wonder if you're seeing some ghost of issues past:

UPDATE:
Ok, it definitely has something to do with the amp sim - if I disable it in the FX bin, the fades work as expected. Freezing the track and then applying the fades works as well. For some reason, the plugin seems to be overriding any volume effects made by the slip-fades. Why would it do this? And how can I get around it without having to freeze first?

(PS: I tried it with the Guitar Rig 4 plugin as well - same deal. So it's not a TH2 exclusive issue or anything.)

Clip fade will be applied before the audio data hit the track input. If the amp sim includes compression, it could largely override the fade. You would need to use volume automation in that case to operate on the output after the FX.
