Working on a song that requires 16 tracks and when I bring in Kontakt 5 and choose all output stereo it only provides 8 tracks.  i experimented with cloning the last instrument track because I don't know how to create one and this causes errors in Kontakt. Is there a way to cause Platinum to create 16 instrument tracks when bringing in virtual instrument?

I am not sure, but it sounds like you have 8 stereo outputs. You could perhaps choose mono output, to get all 16.
Best of luck.

Actually that was my video.. its 8 stereo pairs from 16 outs..

iirc, the purpose of the video was to show the assignment of the tracks within Kontakt, and then the assignment within sonar and to recommend setting up a track template..

So maybe my expectation is wrong, if when loading Kontakt and you choose all stereo outs, to me that would mean 16 stereo outs.  All i desire is for the instrument track is to create 16 instrument tracks so that I don't have to use 2 kontakt instruments to achieve 16 output.  I am new to all of this so if there is something obvious i am missing please let me know

I believe that you will have to go with 16 mono channels, if you want 16 separate tracks from one instance of Kontakt. (I do not use Kontakt) Others may prove me wrong

16 out version of Kontakt is just that - 16 out..  There are 16 output channels that can be configured however you like, just note that it takes 2 outs to make a stereo pair..
So, If you are looking for 16 stereo pairs, then add another instance of Kontakt.

Wouldn't just opening the 64 out Kontakt give all you need?  In my browser, it's the first of the three Kontakt dll's.  You'd have your 16 stereo outputs plus you'd have 32 spare mono (or 16 spare stereo) channels to boot.  You could ignore them, or use them for extra stuff.
