Try using the events editor in the command bar.
This is the best answer by far
It think it depends. icontakt's method works faster if you already have snap selected in PRV, just shift+click+drag. But if you don't have snap at a comfortable value, then the Events Editor is great - especially because you can select an entire clip (don't need to be in PRV), type...done.
Well, in that case, I would say a CAL script like the one below is the fastest in both TV and PRV. You just select the clip or notes and hit the keyboard shortcut assigned the CAL. I use Alt+4, Alt+6, Alt+8, etc.
But still, I use Shift+click+drag in the PRV, because my right hand doesn't need to leave the mouse. It's a handy new feature not known by many.
;; Duration 16th.cal ;; ;; This is a sample CAL program that implements an editing command to ;; set all note durations to 16th. ;; (do (forEachEvent (if (== Event.Kind NOTE) (do (= Note.Dur 240) ) ) ) ) Bristol_Jonesey
Note: if your target length is say, 120 ricks and the first note in your selection is already this length then it will not work.
Yes, this is a
bug and I'm wondering when it gets fixed.
