  • Any 2nd week problem/kudos reports on Dorchester? Seems pretty quiet.

Hi, guys. Kind of out of comission today from crummy pain crap (stoopid weather) so thought I'd check in to see how people are faring with the new release. We had that one thread where a few folks were having some issues but scanning the thread queue it seems that was pretty isolated. I'm guessing no news is good news (otherwise people would be wigging). Maybe if I'm still feeling crummy tommorrow I'll d/l and update if folks are indeed finding it reasonably trouble free.

Cheers.

Thanks. I'm about to start learning how to use Drum Maps but don't really use track templates so maybe that won't affect me?

As far as Boost11 (and plugins in generally)... do these monthly updates reinstall all the plugins too along with the main installer? Obviously I don't need Boost11 reinstalled since I've got every Sonar version since X1 on this machine. If so then I guess that would affect me but I never use the bugger anymore anyway. Not sure how that would/could affect me but I'll read your thread to see what the fallout is of that issue.

Cheers.

If I am reading that correctly you have Boost11 (and all your other plugs) installed on your D drive? I thought those were better off living on the program drive (along with SOnar) seeing as how they are programs.

My plugs live on my C drive anyway so I'm guessing that would not even affect my install.

Thanks.

I expect boost11 to behave the same as any other plugin during installs (where I put my plugins is irrelevant a bug is a bug). In a nutshell Cakewalk say they fixed the Boost11 installation issue in the Dorchester release notes but it isn't. If you use default path's it should not effect you although a new version of it seems to be built and overwritten on every release.

And Track templates seem to be crashing "randomlyish" if you are using multiple tracks (perhaps). People have validated the issue and is a PITA for me. Not sure if it's drummaps or not at this stage.

For further discussion probably best to stick to those threads.

Yeah, that's cool. Wasn't questioning/diminishing your reasons. Just trying to understand the issue to wrap my head around whether it might bite me in the butt. I appreciate you pointing those things out and I will have to keep an eye out for the track template thing. It is possible I may start setting some up as my endeavours get more elaborate and I'm getting a feel for what I like. If they bork out right off the bat that would annoy me especially if I didn't know what was going on.

Anyway... thanks.

Cheers.

No problem - I just stated my config was irrelevant in than context because it's true. I wasn't getting irritated about it sorry if it appeared that way.

Nah, I was just making sure I wasn't being a d*ck. Little cranky and spaced today so I wasn't sure.

Cheers.

So no one else have anything to report either way? Really in this case silence is encouraging... or maybe I just smell bad. lulz...

If anything goes wrong I'll let you know. Spent 4 hours each of the past 5 nights with no problems, other than falling asleep while sitting up.

But remember, you can always roll back. There's no danger I've encountered in updating.
