I'm used to using Home Studio 6. In that, clips on tracks have a colored background and the waveform itself, shows up black, against the color. Its usually a strong contrast, and when a section of a clip is selected, it shows up dark grey for that selection.. very easy to see.
 
But on X3, its the reverse. the clip background is dark grey, the waveform itself is in color. When I make a selection, I am having a tough time actually seeing whats selected... because the selection is dark grey, and the background of the clip is dark grey.
 
Is there any way to change it to look more like Home Studio 6? I did the color export from 6, but it didnt work right. What I'd like is to go into the color preferences section of X3, and tell it to make the clip backgrounds colored and the waveforms black.. the reverse of what it is now.
 
Anybody know which color parameters this is in preferences?

yea, using the inspector manually.   they took it out of the preferences>color options

no, it does NOT exist.   the prefs>color option makes it automatic so i dont have to go to the inspector for each track.  Also when you create NEW clips in the track, they will not use the color you specified in the inspector view.   

It is quite different.

The option was removed in X3. A request to bring it back is here (I personally don't need it, though):
