Hi
Recently bought Artist which apparently has 11 synths. I can only find 8 and the one called Triangle II doesn't work. An error message states: 'Failed to insert soft synth. ...it may not have installed properly'.
Can someone tell me where I can find the other 3 and also how I can re-install TriangleII.

The manual is very shoddy in that it often refers to pictures that are not shown.

There is a file in the Tutorials folder called: SONAR_AudioDemo.cwb. When loaded the following errors appear:
'The following VST plug-in clsid could not be matched with an entry in the VST plug-list... Boost11'.

When loading the file: Instruments.cwp from the Tutorials folder the error message appears:
'The following plugins are referred to by this project but could not be found. They may be missing or improperly installed...
SI-Drum Kit (Synth Rack)
SI-Bass Guitar (Synth Rack)
SI-Electric Piano (Synth Rack)
SI-String Section (Synth Rack)
Square I (Synth Rack)
Dimension LE (Synth Rack)'

There is a file in the Tutorials projects/Video Tutorial folder called: Boarding.wmv featuring Snow-boarding that has no relation to Sonar Artist.

I have found various other errors and problems to numerous to mention.

Please explain

Upon further investigation it appears the whole installation is screwed.
In Command Center Setting it shows the paths of various folders but they're incorrect.
Command Center Settings state: '32 bit vst3 plugins: C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3'
However, no such folder exists!

Command Center Settings state:
'64 bit vst3 plugins: C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3'
Once again, no such folder exists!

Don't worry about the VST3 paths, they will be created when needed. SONAR Artist does not ship with any VST3 plug-ins at the moment.

Moving this to the SONAR forum.

Have you tried a reset and a full scan of your plugins?

And, did you use the Command Center to do your installation of everything?  If so, are all the status lights green, or are some red or yellow?

Hi
Yes, I did a reset and a full scan plugins and thanks to scook I can now see Studio Instruments (they're not working properly yet (distorted sound) but that's for another day).
And yes, I did use the Command Center to install everything and have green lights throughout.
I do feel that something went wrong during installation since there's no uninstall option/file available. This is very odd with modern software and makes manual un-installation difficult.

David,

If you 'right click' on a product in the command center, the uninstall (and rollback) options should be shown.

Cured!
In the last couple of days I have gone through my PC with a fine toothed comb. I have re-installed, cleaned up, reset, streamlined and generally give a good kicking to everything that might have caused my problems.
The result is that Sonar Artist now seems to be working fine - no distortion, nothing missing, no problems.
At present there seems to be less urgency to replace my SB X-fi hardware but I will anyway in the near future. I'm looking at either the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 or 4i4.
I would like thank you all for the help, suggestions and forbearance over the last week and phew! I can now get on with making music.
Thank you all
David
