• SONAR
  • Synth GUIs not opening.

I'm working on my first Platinum project and just had a problem.
I had AD2 and Dim Pro as tabs in the Console view on my second monitor. For whatever reason I closed the tabs for both synths but when I tried to reopen the GUIs by clicking on the synths in the browser neither would open up. I closed the project and restarted Sonar and it all worked again.
The track has 7 frozen synths and just the Dim Pro and AD2 "live" so Sonar isn't using much juice.

Could you give us steps specific steps to reproduce please from a new project so we could reproduce the issue please at our end?

Thanks..

My original post wasn't exactly scant of information: I had GUIs, I closed the GUIs and then I couldn't open GUIs anymore. Closing and reopening the program gave me GUIs again.

It's not like clicking on a certain area in Sonar causes the program to crash - I could give you information as to what area I was clicking on. If something that usually works stops working for no apparent reason there are no steps to reproduce the problem.

Well we need to reproduce the issue and need specific steps, if we can't we would have to close the issue in the problem reports forum.

Here is a good example:

At the moment this could easily be a plugin issue for instance. I'll move this to the Sonar forums for troubleshooting, people might be able to help...

Cheers..

and this should be in the "Problem Reports" forum ;-)

Well if we can get reproducible steps from a new project then happy to move it back.. At the moment it's just as likely to be an issue with the environment...

It's weird, you try to be a good boy and post in the correct forum and then it gets moved into the wrong one!

Anyhoo, as much as I'd like to make things even clearer the first post pretty much says it all.
My "environment" is a decent PC that is kept up to date, uses a GTX670 graphics card (which isn't going to be scared of a plugin GUI, or two) and hasn't shown this fault before.

Can the problem be replicated in the same project or was it a one time event?

Synth GUI open and close for me. I tried changin screen sets, open close the dock. I haven't had a problem with the sythn GUI at all. Granted all I had open was Dim Pro, Z3ta and Rapture.

Grum, when you say "as tabs in the Console view on my second monitor" are you saying that you have them in the "Multidock" on the second monitor?

Because what I tried above was on a single monitor set up.

I can't make it happen again. Random hickups are the worse kind.
