• SONAR
  • Cakewalk Command Center...is this really happening?

I just purchased a version of Sonar, but this Command Center thing wants to install the program to my solid state drive with no option to install things to another directory.  Who wrote this program? This isn't the 1990's.  People have multiple drives now. Enough complaining...

I would be greatly appreciative if there is anyone out there with a solution to this problem. I would like to install Sonar to another directory other than the default "C" drive.  Thanks ahead of time.

I already complained about this.  Not very bright for a Software company...but it is what it is...

No..there is, at present, no way to install where you want it to go...

Hopefully in one of the updates (if they are wise)

Aww. That's unfortunate.  I guess I won't be installing the program then. Maybe I have time for a refund until this is fixed? Thanks for the help.

just use the command center to download the installers but don't use it to install, run the installer manually and it's the same as it was before.

Or download the files from your account online.

The parts that must go to the C drive aren't all that big.

You have the choice to install the bulk of the software to other drives, just not through the Command Center.

See this thread for instructions on doing that.  Particularly message #13.

I guess the main factor here is that none of that should be necessary...
XLN made the same mistake with their Online Installer when it first
went live, but it was corrected rather quickly....we'll see how quickly Cake gets it addressed...

Thanks everyone for replying.  I didn't know that you could download the installers. I guess I will give that a try.

You have pressed the settings button before install?

Incidentally, Pro Tools 11 is the same way, you get no option for where to install.
I find it hard to comprehend that software companies will STILL do this...it's
ridiculous...especially in today's multi-hard drive, mulit-boot, multitasking world...
