Hello,
I can't seem to find this info so sorry if it was posted somewhere else. My studio DAW has no internet access. What is the best way to install Sonar Platinum offline? I believe I read that if it is an offline installation, that the command center will not be able to access the latest versions and let me know when updates are available. What is the best way to stay informed on the latest updates for manual upgrading?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Hi Benjamin,

We do have an offline authorization process. You can find the details here:

Thanks!

Just go to your account and get the installers there. Transfer them to your PC the do as Dan above said to get your activation.

Thanks guys! So it looks like I shouldn't install the command center if I'm doing an offline installation?

The other question I can't seem to find the answer for is how offline users will be notified of new releases?

I'm thinking that we'll hear about it here in the forums, or just have to check our accounts every so often.

That's what I'm afraid of! It would be nice if we could hear from Cakewalk about this one. Perhaps there could be an e-mail list that could be signed up for that notifies when an update is available... or even a sticky thread that we could subscribe to (that was closed to public response) so we could get an e-mail notifying us when Cakewalk posts an update. Any other ideas?

The problem is, I'm already signed up to receive emails from them, but I never get any.

Or even better... they fix the C3!

More and more people are using SSD and multi-drive optimized systems for everything these days, online and off,  much more so DAWs and production systems both in-home and on the job.
Bouncing here and there everyday to decipher if a patch or update is needed, then locating, downloading, moving, and installing the correct module etc manually, just to keep the software working right is a step backward for modern mankind lol.

We'll just have to wait and see how Sonar addresses the issues and when.
I just hope its sooner than later!

Yeah, I didn't either. Perhaps they assumed everyone would use the command center and that the offline base wouldn't amount to that many users. I've been thinking about getting a cellular wifi hub for the studio (in an industrial building), but as it stands there isn't an online option there.
