I am logged in and can see everything is ok with the assistant.

 You must be logged into BandLab Assistant to install Cakewalk and have it authorize correctly. Once it's authorized, you're good, but the install has to be through BandLab Assistant. If you run into demo mode for some reason, uninstall/reinstall from there. If you get persistent issues with auth, please contact support, so we can get more details.
