All the files are in the same place they have been forever. They were there minutes ago. But, I am a believer in continuous transition between parallel universes.  (Where are my keys,.... right where you left them, as they return from not-here-now.

How do I fix this?   Install the DP files included with x3?

Examples:
File d:\audiosamples\dimension pro\multisamples\18 - reeds\sax alto\414 - f - 001.flac not found or couldn't be loaded.
File d:\audiosamples\dimension pro\multisamples\18 - reeds\sax alto\414 - f - 002.flac not found or couldn't be loaded.
File d:\audiosamples\dimension pro\multisamples\18 - reeds\sax alto\414 - f - 003.flac not found or couldn't be loaded.
File d:\audiosamples\dimension pro\multisamples\18 - reeds\sax alto\414 - f - 004.flac not found or couldn't be loaded.

The samples for MY installation of Dim Pro, which followed all defaults during install, are at:

C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\Multisamples\18 - Reeds\Sax Alto

And within the above folder, are all of the same ones you are listing as missing:

414 - F - 001.flac
414 - F - 002.flac
414 - F - 003.flac
414 - F - 004.flac

Etc.......

I have had the samples in the same folder since sonar 6.

I can load DP and any of the presets used in the projects that cannot be found.

This is more than annoying.

I finally install X3 and DP cannot find samples, SD cannot be found, AD will not install.

Hours wasted trying to fix what was supposed to help with a project I want to finish this week. But now the projects opened in X2 ALSO cannot load SD and the samples.

Must be a sign. Should have cleaned the basement instead.

Well where is the folder? Please check Bobs post... If it's different the obvious thing to do would be to copy the samples folder to see if it sees it.

You can also check the file paths within the registry settings, or do a clean removal and reinstall (maybe that is advisable):

Also I googled this:

Thanks...

Were the errors generated in a new project or an old project? The multisample path is stored in a couple of places in the registry depending on the DimPro version and platform.

The samples have been there for years, even during new installation of all and every.

If I copy/move the samples to another folder ( in this case a buried folder where user stuff should never be placed) everything about Sonar's folder structure and file location becomes even more stupid.

(Nothing a user can save/modify should ever be placed in a location not included in the default path of any backup utility.)

The main issue is WHY installing X3 should break these associations for SD and DP.

Check my last post, the second link goes through the same discussion and shows you how to fix links in the registry/associations. It shows you a number of areas you can check, there is a lot of information in that thread. I'm sorry you've had issues my focus is more trying to help you directly resolve your issue.
