Hi all,
Just pulled a new one from the oven.   This instrumental was originally inspired by Kenny's "Kenfucious" which made me want to do something more along the lines of fusion, a style I've never attempted before: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Kenfucious-m3625520.aspx

Unfortunately I don't think I quite hit the target since it started getting transitioning more to Prog as it went along, and no matter what, I just couldn't convince it to do otherwise.  Oh well.

Anyway, here she is:  https://soundcloud.com/steve-cocchi/singularity

Thanks

Absolutely love it.  How did you remember all the obscure notes?  Were you reading it? :D:D

Wow Steve. I wouldn't know where to start laying something this complex down. My brain hurts.

Reminds me of an album I loved by Bill Bruford waaayyyy back in the mid to late 70's. Your right, it does tend to drift more into prog territory, but you started out strong!

Very nice, complex piece steve!

Well done on this one, interesting arrangement and certainly has strong links to the Prog genre.

Cool! Interesting instrumental music with different parts. I liked the composition and arrangement. Sounds good.

Ooh early Genesis vibe for me - reminded me of The Knife from Trespass but without the lyrics. Great work - I don't know where you start to create such a complex piece - very well done. Andy

Oh yeah. For me this evokes my favourite prog band, Gentle Giant - they were highly complex, but also had swing. Brilliant stuff Steve, love this.

Yes, Yes I mean Yes.  Very cool.  How did you record the drums?  They sound great.  Also, at about 4:09 I did think you were going to break out into West Side Story's, "America."  I listened on headphones and thought the mix was pro.  Really great job.  I don't know how you would approach a song like this.
