I have tried that and SPLAT still crashes.

I'm fairly certain it is the Melodyne that is causing the issue.

I have a Support email into Cakewalk. Lets see what they can come up with.

Have you tried opening a new project and testing it ?
It could be a corrupt Cakewalk project.

I just tested on a brand new project and it still crashes.

So are you saying that the track freezes ok, but the crash is happening when you save the project? That's what it looks like you are saying. If so that seems very strange. So, once the track with Melodyne is frozen, the project runs fine and the audio plays as it should?

Have you tried doing a save as... instead of saving over the current file?

That is exactly what I am saying or to be more precise what is happening. I can freeze the track and play everything fine but when I go to save - CRASH.

I just tried a Save As and CRASH!

You didn't mention if this has happened before, if it is something totally new (you were able to do this with previous projects no issue).

You can problem solve these issues fairly easy.
- Remove FX (you have done)
- Try a new project with no FX (just freeze and save)
- Try a new project. Add Slate then freeze and save.

That alone will give you some clearer answers to where the source of the issue is.

I experienced this once. Just once, because my reaction was "OK, better not do that". Maybe Celemony fixed a problem, maybe Cakewalk did; either way I haven't had the problem since - because I don't freeze Melodyne clips. Simple solution.

But, you say, I need to freeze those tracks to conserve CPU. Actually, you don't. Render them. That'll free up the CPU cycles Melodyne was using, just as if you'd frozen it. You can then freeze the track if necessary.

This is a known problem.  SONAR will crash inside Melodyne when saving a project if the Melodyne track is frozen.  I don't think it's been fixed.  It certainly happens in Melodyne 4.1.1.011 which is the most recent version you can get from your Melodyne account.  There is another thread on the forum that goes into it.  As far as I know it's never been fixed and there is no workaround other than not freezeing Melodyne tracks.

It was my intention to Track some vocals and then come back to clean up and tweak the Melodyne afterwards. So I wouldn't want to render them.

What I will do is create a simple Stereo Sub Mix to a new Track, then bypass all of the other channels and track VOX with the Sub Mix and then once I'm done with the VOX I can go back to the original tracks for mixing.

I'm getting the idea that this is not going to be fixed anytime soon.

Thanks for you all your help.

That's the thing. It does work.
I wouldn't be trying to help you if it didn't work. I tested it on 3 different tracks today
(1 audio track / 1 audio track with FX / 1 audio track with previous Melodyne edits)
All of them worked.

Im not sure if your not replying to my suggestions because you have found its too much trouble or just not interested.
Either way, good luck.
