  • Informal Poll: Navigation Shortcuts That Improve Your Productivity?

This forum is a great place to (unexpectedly at times) find great productivity boosters from other users' posts.
Given how "deep" SONAR has gotten with new features/capabilities, progress can sometimes come at a cost
of increasingly complex navigation and workflow ( change this view/ resize that /zoom out/in/vert/horz/screensets/Lenses/etc)
So I pose this question:
What are your "go to" keybindings/shortcuts or methods to ensure that every task is set-up, in focus, and sized/positioned correctly to allow you to go to work on the task at hand? What tricks speed up your actual editing tasks?

All ideas welcomed..from simple keystroke combos to complex macros or CAL routines.

I use Ctrl-PgUp and Ctrl-PgDn to advance to the beginning of the next bar or back to the start of the current one. I use this a lot for navigating through projects. Also PgUp and PgDn for jumping back and forth between markers.

I use the left/right arrows to navigate to the previous/next marker. This feels very natural to me and has sped up my workflow more than any other custom setting

One of my faves is 'T' which inserts the tool module wherever your cursor is on the screen. Great shortcut for me when editing.

Alt shift and f6 to select everything to end and control alt and V to force paste special are the ones I use the most.
not really navigation I suppose, but really useful shortcuts for me!

no, these are all exactly the responses I was hoping for. I'm always looking to pick up productivity gains so I hope to try ( and steal  ) most of these!! Hopefully others will too.

I am watching intently as the only ones I really use are Ctrl-S, Crtl-Z (a lot) and R (Save, undo and start transport - record.)

Left/Right Arrows=Previous and Next Marker (custom, I think...)
< & > ( technically , and .) = Go To Start of Measure and End of Measure  (custom)
Ctr+Left or Right Arrow: quick horizontal zoom in and out
F3-Bounce to Clip (custom)
F4- Apply Trimming (custom)
F5- Lock Clip Position and Data (custom)
~ - Select None (custom)
U= Restore View To Previous State (custom)
G= Center View on Now Time (custom)
Home= resizes and zooms tracks to see entire project (custom, super useful)
Mousewheel Press= Tool Hub
W=Return To Zero
K=Mute
B= Browser
I= Inspector
D= Show MultiDock
Z= Zoom Tool
Ctr+M= Melodyne Region ( for lots of vocal editing, this is really helpful)

Oh, and watch out if you ever hit number 0 accidentally....you'll end up with a strange white cursor and all your previous shortcuts gone. It's some strange "keyboard only navigation mode" and can really confound you if you hit it by accident :)

BTW, the OP of this previous thread made a pretty cool video on this topic:
