  • [Solved] Navigator view?

Wow! I was just surprised...

I usually use the Navigator view for certain types of projects which I don't often have these days. The only one I currently see it in is my mastering template and all is normal...?

In another project I opened Navigator to find it is now another Multidock client... Yes I can float it, but I can no longer simply have it docked by itself above my time ruler... ?

Is there some way to do this? I'm really surprised but glad some bug has left it alone in my mastering template!

Thanks...

Ha! I found that if I use the command from the silverlight menu's View menu still opens Navigator the old way. Lost the hotkey, but at least it's still available... Please do NOT fix this bug! ;-)

I believe you are confusing the Navigator Pane with the Navigator View

OK... I'm good with the idea, but they both show the same shortcut?

they both show the same shortcut?

From the links provided above:
To toggle the Navigator Pane use ALT+N
To call up the Navigator View use ALT+SHIFT+8
Both seem to work as documented.

Not here they don't...

I guess a report is due from me.

Here, both commands open the view which is multidock oriented. The alt-n opens the view in the multidock and the alt-shift-8 opens the same view floating. It does not attach itself above the ruler and disabling floating does as always.... or it can be placed back in the multidock...

The keyboard shortcuts in preferences and my tests with a new project agree with the documentation. You may want to verify that you are using default shortcuts. I also do not use lenses. They may override anything. It could also be related to your screen layout. I do not float anything.

Did you file a report? All I see is another post http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3613555. Posting there is no substitute for a problem report. If you do elect to file a problem report, make sure to add the CWBRN number to your posts about the issue.

I still think there is a little more work to be done to determine if there is a problem though.

Thanks Steve...

I have not yet filed a troubke repirt. Only the pist you show link for. I was waiting for more info.

I looked at my shortcuts but got interrupted so i will look more shortly.

All nav related commands ive seen so far open the same window whether fliating or multidock...

OK...

New info here. Looking up alt-shift-N showed it unassigned. I found the command for the preferred view (for me) and now have it bound...

I mostly have the shortcut defaults, but I did add/change a couple. One being the N key a while back, but that got changed back by Cakewalk.... the other command I modified was creating a shortcut to hide tracks.... but all else should have been default. I guess that I you've modified the default, it doesn't get changed in pdates so as not to over-write user settings?
