you will see the smart tool change when your mouse point at the top of a note in PRV,drag it up and down and you can hear the velocity change live.

Well, what do you know - I've never even noticed that.

I can't imagine why you would expect to hear anything when you change a MIDI note velocity.

Because some sampled instruments have more than one velocity layers. In some cases adjusting velocity can change the timbre of the note.

Sure - I meant I didn't know why you'd expect to hear something as you were clicking to change the velocity. But alas, I was wrong - there is a setting so you *can* hear it

Big Thanks! Why this is not checked by default?
But it is not really real time ;-) But it is better than nothing.
If someone has the answer, since when this option is present and why is it not checked by default?

I think Cakewalk should improve this feature ,it's a really helpful function for me.
I just found this feature few month ago and surprisingly, few people know about this.

I agree - this needs some TLC.  It should be more discoverable and possibly even enabled by default.  And - far as I can tell - it doesn't work in the Controller pane, only in the PRV note pane.  We'll definitely revisit this for an upcoming release.
