I notice after the patch...

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture Pro\2.0\Rap Multisamples Path
... is pointing to an empty folder on the C drive.
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\Rapture Pro\2.0\Dim Multisamples Path
...is pointing to my old Dimension Pro multisamples folder on another drive.

Note I installed Rapture Pro content to a totally new folder away from my old Dim Pro and Rapture installations, afterwards it all seemed to import just fine.

The question is where should these registry keys point to?
I am thinking the original Dimension Pro and Rapture multisamples folders I had before I installed Rapture Pro?
Does anybody want to compare notes, or perhaps Cakewalk can confirm what their purpose is.

Thanks..

Mine point to:
K:\Cakewalk\Dimension Pro\
and
K:\Cakewalk\Rapture\Content
which contain the MultiSamples folder.

They are pointing towards the multisamples folders for Rapture and Dimension Pro (old versions), and nowhere near your Rapture Pro folders ? Thanks.

Those keys point to your existing legacy Rapture and Dimension Pro multisample paths. Prior to update one, these were not getting migrated correctly. This now allows the migrated Dimension Pro/Rapture 1 programs to load correctly without having to copy anything manually.

Thanks Jon, I have corrected it.

The recipe if you want to test it....

Install Rapture and Dimension Pro (old versions).
Move the multisamples folders for each product onto another driver/folder path.
Correct the registry keys accordingly.
Install Rapture Pro and run.
Install all Rapture Pro service pack and run.

Not sure if you need to put in some cleanup code for upgrades as well or not...

Just winding up this thread, if people come across this thread they might also find this post useful as well:

There are two other registry paths that Rapture Pro looks at:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software]
"ContentDir"="K:\\Cakewalk Content"
"SampleDataDir"="K:\\Cakewalk\\Rapture Pro"

Naturally yours may be different than mine.

Yup thanks - my registry settings for this are fine.

I found an interesting unrelated bug though.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Cakewalk Music Software\ProjectDir
.... was set to the wrong flle path for Cakewalk Projects... Even though it was set in Sonar preferences correctly!
How come this happens? AUD.INI and this key do not sync up.

Anyway I've corrected it and reported it:

OK - I am SOOOO confused, still. after pouring through threads and installing Dim Pro, Rapture, and Rapture Pro.

1.  Dim Pro and Rapture seem OK, after moving Multisamples and editing registry keys, although I DID have to create a new Registry String Value and Data for the moved folder.

2.  Rapture Pro installed OK, and I find Multisamples Folders at:

    D:\Cakewalk Content\Cakewalk Sample Data\Rapture Pro\Multisamples
    D:\Cakewalk Content\Rapture Pro\Multisamples

All the expansion packs seem to be in the 1st folder above, and the 2nd one has only a few Multisample folders: (BASS, GOLDTOPNECK, Sound FX, Wavetable Collection 1).

There are Programs folders in multiple places, and I would like to know how I properly make the expansion pack Programs available to Rapture Pro (and for Dim Pro, for the ones that are for it too).  Can someone please list the various locations for the Programs, as well as how to make them properly available?

Thanks,

Bob Bone
