The lock button is now missing in prv edit mode. I like to be able to see other sellected tracks for refference but without having them editable. This is one of the main reasons i choose Sonar as my DAW in the first place. The loss of this feature is a great set back to my composition work flow.
It looks like i will have to go back to using X2 Producer.

Isn't that what the new Auto-Lock is for?

I have just read the release notes and this new auto lock feature is only available in Producer and Platinum editions, so as i am using Artist, it is tough luck and i have lost the lock button from my version.

It sounds like you may be using the Auto Lock Mode.....

Thank you so much... That was it, don't remember Auto Lock Mode in the prior release, guess it's a new feature, which I didn't pay attention too (dah..) when I loaded an existing project. Think I'm gonna luv this PRV and... Thank you bakers, so glad you're finally working on what I use most!

Getting Rapture x64 Main Call error when I just did s VST Scan after this update.

Maybe it is not this update did this because I have not tried a VST Scan for a few weeks.

Any ideas to resolve?

Ignore the error and tell the scanner to enable the plug-in.

Thanks Cakewalk as always very grateful.

2 things though :
1)
i was very eager to see if PRV tabs 2,3,4,5,6 etc on this update were made active like PRV tab 1 has always been-
refer:
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Copy-and-pasting-between-tracks-a-quicker-way-m3464683-p2.aspx#3468243

unfortunatly NO , which is a shame because being able to go to PRV tab 2 and lasso midi note on track 1 then click a midi note on track 2 with the mouse and hit ctrl+V to paste the same note into track 2 is so efficient and its only available on PRV tab 1 (:

2) an old bug is back - refer
http://forum.cakewalk.com/Ghosted-clips-bug-m3456679.aspx#3468274

while i was doing 1) some of the midi tracks greyed out and i had to click the clips drop down menu ,which displayed "clips" in track view and select clips again to get color back.

And to make things worse when this happens and a midi track greys out you can not copy and paste between tracks on the Active PRV Tab 1 window / WILL NOT WORK .

i am to busy to look any further into this though i have to roll back until the next update , which is sad cause i would like to help troubleshoot it and i was really looking forward to this update .

Hope this helps

I will mention an efficiency that goes all the way back to Master tracks Pro - 1991?
I could click on the line of a note in the left hand column and every note in that range would be selected, then I could drag it to a new note.  This is great when one want to change just one note in a song globally.

What is the quickest way to do that in Sonar?

There should be a pane in the PRV on the left that contains piano keys/note names. Click on the note you want to select.
