  • Are multiple PRV windows being replaced?

The info. in the below closed topic is unclear and seems to imply that the possibility of Multiple PRV windows containing
different sets of multiple tracks *might be* in jeapordy.

http://forum.cakewalk.com/Early-release-20173-issue-PRV-Issue-m3579005.aspx

Can some one please confirm that the only thing that is being changed is how the tracks are being selected and that
"Lock Content" is not being replaced and the ability to have multiple (as in 5 or more) PRV windows open, with distinctly different tracks in each is still available?

And also, if the method of selecting tracks for a PRV has now moved to the track pane, how does one add or remove a track from *only one* of the multiple PRV windows that are open?

My PRV workflow, as it is now, i.e. *&*multiple PRV open and locked, with different sets of tracks in each *&* is absolutely essential to me.
Loosing this *&* would be a deal breaker and a reason to never again update splat.

Thank you! (and sorry for the drama)

Holding shift when selecting view piano roll adds multiple Piano Roll views to the multidock just as before, if that helps. Added bonus is it's now super easy to change the tracks displayed in each of the PRV tabs

Thanks MattyBoy.

Can you be a bit more specific on how one would add or remove a track from one PRV view when multiple PRV views are open and locked?

You actually have to hold CTRL while opening a new PRV window to open it in a locked state.

Then if you want to really lock that PRV window's contents, add the track to the filter and then turn on the filter (You might have to press "h" to make the right hand pane visible).

Once you have done that, opening another track in a PRV windows will open it in its own window.  The first PRV window's contents will remain intact, while the new PRV window will contain the events from other track. You now should have two PRV windows with independent contents.

It's a bit convoluted I know, but it does work.  Hopefully there will be refinements in the April update release.

Yes! Cntrl-Click is the ticket. I was forgetting to lock the contents of the first tab before opening a second. Thank you promidi.

So then after selecting a group of tracks
Ctrl+Alt+3 will load those tracks into a locked PRV?

and then repeating the process will open an other second locked PRV?
