To configure your Cakewalk software, please do the following:
- Click Options > Audio > Advanced
- From the 'Driver Mode' dropdown select ASIO
- If the 'Driver Mode' selector is not available make sure the box next to “Always use mme interface” is NOT checked.
- Click Apply and then OK, if prompted restart the program
- Next, Click Options > Audio:
- On the Drivers tab, make sure your E-MU 404 card is selected under both inputs and outputs. If it appears grayed out, deselect all drivers, in both inputs and outputs, then select your E-MU 404 card. If changes are made, click OK and if prompted, restart the program
- On the General tab, make sure one of your E-MU 404 drivers is selected as 'Playback Timing MASTER'. It is best to select the output that you have speakers or headphones connected to. Click OK and if prompted restart the program.
- Finally, all audio playback will occur from your audio device. Make sure you have your speakers or headphones connected to its outputs.
