Killing Screensets was one of the most stupid ideas of yours. Thanks for ruining it for me.

In what way are screen sets 'killed'?

I tested this and found that at the lowest latency setting of 2 ms, the WASAPI 'drivers' kept dropping out in a strange way but ASIO was rock solid and can go even lower latency with the Focusrite Saffire, down to 32 samples though my system was coughing up when i used this with a reasonably large project. Good idea but not quite something I would be using at this stage. I haven't tested it on the laptop though.

I'm 65, but I welcome change. Took me awhile to figure out the new layout. But it's like anything else: you have to read. Did I say READ?

Only note I have is once the synth rack is docked, if I open up Native Instruments, it disappears and I have to re-acquire it. No big deal.

After installing this update the program keeps crashing.  Everything was working fine last night. Installed the 2016.11 version and when I try to open a project it states "Sonarplt.exe has stopped working".  I tried rolling back and it didn't solve it.  Please help. I'm running an HP, Windows 10, 64 bit, 12 gb RAM

Ever since this update, I haven't been able to get Shift A shortcut to work to show automation lanes in track view.  I can get it to work temporarily if I go into Preferences->Keyboard Shortcuts and assign Shift A to Show Track Lanes.  But it doesn't stay sticky even if I save the project.  Besides, isn't this supposed to be a baked in global shortcut cuz I've never had to mess with it before.  On the other hand, Shift T consistently works for show Take Lanes.

If you are using a rocksmith cable try using WASAPI exclusive. You will get even lower latency typically since it will go down to a buffer size as low as 3 msec. Of course round trip latency depends on your audio hardware itself but it should be very usable with just the cable and stock laptop audio.
This can be super useful when you are travelling and need to do a scratch track.

Thanks Noel. I did exactly that and am very impressed with the performance. For me, the update means that I don't have to drag my USB audio interface along on a trip just to be able to use a guitar. It also makes using VST synths work much better. I was able to layout scratch tracks last night using only my Minilab and guitar via the Rocksmith cable. The experience was just as good as I normally have with the VS-20. Granted, the update package has lots of goodies this month, but for me, this feature is the hidden gem of the group.

This is very interesting. Could you explain how you hook up a guitar to Sonar through Rocksmith cable? I reckon it is a special cable for gamers. Does it work like audio interface ? And is seen by Sonar as such?

Lenses are a disaster as explained in this thread:

I must have a different version of 2016/11. Screen sets still work for me.

Is it just me or did this update break anyone else's DAW?

Mine was humming beautifully and now since this update the transport seems to jump incrementally instead of running smoothly and if I open more than one synth VST track I get terrible latency and really slow response times - like I am trying to run it on a wildly under-specified PC with some crappy built in soundcard not fit for the job (neither of these things are the case btw).

I hope this is a config issue somewhere because if not this update just killed my DAW stone dead - it's good for nothing now! Cakewalk - what did you do???? :-(
