• SONAR
  • Screensets' key bindings gone after fresh install

I had to do a clean install of Windows yesterday. Once Windows was installed I downloaded CCC and installed Sonar 11.2016, having no option to install 10.2016 right off the bat. Knowing that screensets are missing in 11.2016 as described here: http://forum.cakewalk.com/Lenses-what-do-you-think-about-them-m3520615-p3.aspx , I quickly rolled back to 10.2016.
I can't see an option to assign any keyboard shortcuts to screensets now. It was there before the fresh install.
I am really angry now.

Try a clean install and run the 2016.10 installer manually instead of using the Command Center and roll back. Use the Command Center if you wish to install everything but the actual SONAR installer.

Thanks for the reply. It hasn't worked though. Still no option for key binding...
It's like Cakewalk don't want me to use screensets anymore. Really frustrating.
Would repeating the steps and downloading 2016.09 help?

You could try with any version you have. I thought 2016.10 had screensets and they were gone in 2016.11. This is why I suggested manually installing 2016.10. I do not have SONAR Artist to test myself.

Has support confirmed screenset removal was by design?

I haven't heard from them since.

Everything was working fine in 2016.10 before I updated to 2016.11. I'll try to roll back to 2016.09 and then do a clean install.

Roll back before clean install is not necessary.
Remove existing installation including registry entries then manually run any version of the SONAR Artist installer other than 2016.11. Also may want to rename/remove your "%appdata%\Cakewalk\SONAR Artist" folder before running the installer.

I didn't have the 2016.09 installer on my pc, so had to roll back. Anyway, all is good now. Rolling back to 2016.09 (without doing a clean install) has helped.
They've probably removed the feature from 2016.10 as well now. Like they want to force me into upgrading to Professional/Platinum... no way. Bastards.

It is unlikely Cakewalk modified the 2016.10 installer after releasing 2016.11. Either the feature was in 2016.10 when it was released in October or it was not. Until Cakewalk replies to your problem report it may be too soon to draw any conclusions.

Did you enable Lenses after the install of 11.2016 ?
