I use beta drivers too, and find these are a lot better than official v1.8 drivers.

I'm always below 10ms for tracking...never really notice the latency. I turn off FX for tracking and set buffer size to 128. My gear list is below:

I'm never clear as to what others are reporting. Are people looking at what I'm looking at which is Sonars reported round trip latency??
I know a faster computer might help but I'd have to set the Mix Control setting at 2ms to get around 10ms RTL. On my system this will stop the audio engine dead in it's tracks..
I've no problem recording soft synths.  I do not hear any delay when playing my controller driving any soft synths.  And yes I always bypass all bins when recording midi otherwise I wail hear delay.
I think mid is a totally different kettle of fish. In my case I'm not even sure it has anything to do with the Scarlett drivers at all.
I'm either using a Roland USB keyboard controller or my Yamaha digital drums which are also USB.They both require installing their own drivers. There is a noticeable delay with the Yamaha drums so I direct monitor the brain while tracking. But I spend days and days working with my Roland controller / keyboard and it responds instantly.

If I turn on input echo for an audio track I can most certainly hear a slap back echo.

I just tried a few different sample rates
I can get as low as 3.4 ms if I set it at 2 ms = 89 samples and 96hz. But of course that's not going to get any work done.
At 48 and 5ms I only get a little better than 44.1. @ 21ms rtl
88.2 gives me 12ms rtl at the 5 ms buffer.

I think there is some confusion because in the beta (newer) driver you don't set the buffer in the Scarlett Mix Control app but in a different driver configuration app, and the buffer size is in samples (not ms).
There are also three modes, Recording, Normal and Mixing and each increases RTL for a given sample buffer.
In my two computers (desktop and laptop) the beta 3.2.2 driver performs excelent and waaaay better than the 1.8 (official) driver.
Not sure it works the same for others but it might be worth trying...
I think the Scarlett 1st generation interfaces are great but we have to fine tune the settings.
Hope this helps...

They should've made this beta official by now! And why stop there?! They could also update the MixControl application with the new design and features of the new application for the second generation Scarlett range (Focusrite Control)... but they probably want first gen Scarlett owners like us to stick around and purchase their second gen stuff.

I'm pretty annoyed that the driver is stuck in beta land (purgatory.) Personally I use the 2.5.2 driver. The 3.2.2 driver didn't work as well. I did like the interface better though. I've contacted Focusrite several times about whether or not the driver will ever be out of beta and always get a bureaucratic response. Certainly doesn't give me confidence to by from Focusrite again if my unit ever dies.

They used to come on this forum,, haven't seen that for a long time.
It's not clear to me if that beta driver is for the 6i6. My driver is still the latest which is 1.8. which is pretty old  17/03/2014. That's why I'm moving on to a different brand.
The hype about the 2nd generation basically bashes the 1st. I guess the 3rd generation will claim the 2nd was crap.
