Rob.... I'd need to buy a new interface and hire some musicians... but that's always good to know.

It took a little while but I finally heard back from Customer Service and they sent me the MC6 download ! I haven't installed it yet because I'm waiting to find out if I should un-install MC5 first. While I don't think there would be a conflict, I would like to hear back from them what they [tech support] think. Any advice from you folks is always welcome too, of course ! But thanks to Cakewalk for doing the right thing, and to Samara Krugman for her encouragement and help as well ! A reputable company always takes care of their customers, and Cakewalk and Roland have always done that for me. thank you ! I finally just got MC5 to work after I bought the AVID MBox mini interface. Now I have to learn MC 6 LOL.

no need to uninstall MC5 at all. there will be no conflicts. I have Sonar 6, 8, 8.5 and X1, MC5 and MC6 all on my current DAW and all of them run correctly independent of each other. plus - you can use the plugins and FX of MC5 in MC6 as long as you don't uninstall them!

Some of the later versions are not backward compatible once you open a file/project with them..... you can not open it in the older versions. I saw this in the "read me" on Sonar x1..... so maybe, you would need to do a "save as" rather then a simple save file. I'm having some strange warnings pop up when I try to open the files I edited in MC5 when I again try to run them in MC4. They do open, after several clicks to get rid of the warning.

guitaryf Thank you for sharing . The post growth of my knowledge you are only here to spam the forum. you are not thanking anyone for anything because you don't even use the software we're discussing. you're a lying spamming jerk and you're not welcome here.
