Mackie MCU Pro New Model Help Needed.

Is anyone using one of these successfully with X1B?
Is there any updates to make X1B work better with the included overlay for Sonar?

For example, I can't figure out how to drop a marker in???

What doe the Modifiers M1 -M4 Do?

Amongst other questions.

Is there any posts or tutorials, custom XML files etc that some kind soul can point me to?

This is for the newest model, not the older one.

Mackie's once wonderful documentation has gone down the sewer IMHO as far as this unit is concerned.
Their forum posts go unanswered and it seems that the once super user friendly Mackie is no longer the same animal, made in China aside.

Ok I discovered one thing. Opening up the Mackie Control Options menu and then hitting F1 for Help brings up a ton of information I am now wading through.

They hid this one pretty well :)

    Any other pointers?

The newer MCU Pro uses the exact same protocol as the older one so any info on that is relevant. As you've discovered F1 produces a multitude of useful info including a function summary.

Putting markers in is done by pressing M1 and the Marker button. There are a few functions that have changed or just plain don't work with X1. Having said that they are some of the more obscure ones.

I'm hoping that a Mackie dll update is somewhere on CW's radar.

    @FBB

You are a cornucopia of information!!!!!!

Checking out your ProChannel post right now.

I'm wading through the MCU and finding things I like and others I don't.
For example the set marker should be a single button press, not 2 buttons because it's used a lot.

Overall though, I've tried it with:

    Sonar X1
    Presonus Studio One.
    Reaper
    Nuendo 4.x

The Sonar X1b and Nuendo support are heads and tails above Studio One.
Reaper support with the Klinke plugin is pretty decent and he's working on improving it so I look forward to that as well.

I'm hoping for some new support from all the DAW makers.

    Thanks for the reply!
