Thanks Steve.

They are great friends Grant.  But some of them do seem possessed most of the time.

Today Sparky was showing off with his toy playing skills for the nurse that came by to change my dressing.  She had cleaned the wound and was putting the new bandage on when she jumped and cried out "Sparky!!!".  He had thrown one of his toy mice at her and it landed on her lap in the middle of the bandage procedure.

Interesting, I bet she was impressed. I'm thinking Sparky is the one in the box, oh I can tell he's up to no good. I hate to stereotype, but I'm starting to think all cats that brown and black brindle shade are rotten, but that's OK. Rotten is how I like my cats..

He's the one in the box.  Conversely the other cat is named "Angel" and she is almost never into mischief.  However she is the one with 3 steaks and a bag of beef jerky stolen on her record.

Yep, just as I suspected... Sorry to hear that Angel has a record as well,  I bet that Sparky coaxed her into it..that bad ole puddy tat
Hope you have the laser pointer handy.

No, this was before Sparky moved in.  Angel used to be a street cat that a friend gave me when my other cat died.  She was a stray that used to hang around the house his baby sitter lived in.  When he drove up in my driveway, Angel was standing on the dashboard of his truck eager to see her first real home.  She liked the idea of regular meals and hasn't left me yet.

Here's Angel:

She sure is a cutey pie. I ended up with my cat about the same way, I got gas one day and she was at the station. The owner said if someone doesn't take her he was going to throw her in the river, so I took her, got her fixed, and became butler and servant to her.

Don't overdo the physio Mark.

If you are any lower than this after a week you are probably overdoing it.

Thanks Bill,  I'm feeling so much better.  I'm up and moving around and haven't done any pain meds since yesterday.  I hope to be back at work after next week.

glad to hear your only taking the meds as needed. Those can cause physical problems if you take them too long.

Leaving the hall light on and having the door slightly ajar cures that for me.

Notice Janet how some of us here can maturely deal with real heavy issues while Mark keeps whining about his back?

Yes you should quit now.

I think you'd sleep better at night knowing I'd sleep better at night knowing you were sleeping better at night.

Mark,
I hope your recovery is swift and good!  Is there a silver lining?....besides the end to the back issues you were having prior to the surgery?......well, you are a guitar player and you have back issues......sounds like a great reason to buy a Parker Fly, only 5 pounds!!

Get well soon!

I spoke too soon.  I was cooking dinner last night and a lightning bolt shot through me with some of the worst pain I'd ever felt.  I had to inch my way back to couch but there was no position to sit or lay that gave any relief.  I had to then inch my way back to the kitchen to turn off the burners or there'd be fire.  After a fitfull night I feel a bit better.  But all my gains were shortlived and a handful of meds for me.

Yeah, been there and done that with the lightning bolts.  When you wrote that Mark, I could feel it way over here, ouch.

Have had the spasms, oh man not good.  Can't sit, stand, move, sleep, or even pee without pain.  When the spasms come, I even stop eating or cut way down because a BM would probably kill me or at least force an out-of-body experience.  And NOT in a good way.  Thankfully I haven't had spasms for almost two years.  Not nearly long enough, as far as I'm concerned.

I feel for ya; hope it goes away soon.

Our ancestors of about 20 years ago would have been convalescing in hospital for at least two weeks after a procedure like that (if there was even such a procedure available way back then!).

These days we treat this kind of thing like a routine pit stop.

I'm glad you got the lightning, because now you just may rest up enough to give your body the chance to heal it deserves.  This is a bloody crucial time in your healing which may impact on the quality of your life for the rest of your life.

Now quit any talk of going back to work, being Master chef in the kitchen and whatever other stunts you may have got planned and seriously rest up and get healed.

If you had a friend that had been injured in a knife fight to the extent you've allowed a surgeon to mess with a delicate part of your spine you'd have a lot more compassion for that friend than you are showing yourself just now.

Treat yourself less like a truck and more like that friend!

Nag over!

Doctor's idea not mine.  They had me on my feet day after surgery at the hospital.  They Do Not want you lying around.  They want you moving and walking so it heals articulating instead of fusing.

Edit:  Besides, I haven't noticed anyone else over here cooking for me.
