Derek & Clive - now we're talking. Did you ever here any of their stuff Steve. At one stage pre-divorce I had Derek & Clive get the horn, ad nauseum and one other that slips my mind now. EDIT: Just remembered Derek & Clive Live...
Hilarious and er..... not quite PC either.
Oh yes mate, wonderful stuff.
We used to do some of the sketches in the common room at school, much in the same way that everyone else used to do Monty Python's Parrot sketch, or the 'Is this the right room for an argument' sketch.
I still have the
Ad Nauseam LP (in its original clear 'sick bag' sleeve) and the
Derek and Clive Live LP. I've since picked them both up on CD, as well as
Come Again on CD. On DVD I've got
Derek and Clive Get the Horn and the BBC's
Best of Peter Cook & Dudley Moore. I recently picked up Spike Milligan's wonderful
The Bed Sitting Room on Blu-Ray; not specifically Pete and Dud (although they play major roles in the film) but a wonderfully off the wall film that features a host of great British funny men and comedic actors, including Harry Secombe. Arthur Lowe, Roy Kinnear, Spike himself, Ronald Fraser, Jimmy Edwards, Dandy Nichols, Marty Feldman and Frank Thornton, who is wonderfully cast as "The BBC"!
