    Bill,

I had an early Thanksgiving due to schedule and my current local, Korea, so I'm ready for a bit of early Christmas too. Thanks for all your post and happy holidays to all you folks, especially Pete without whom there would be many fewer things to laugh about.

The holiday jam song was pretty good. There is a lot of string squeakin though. (A lot.) You can buy various products that you can wipe on the strings to help cut this down. Your technique can be slightly changed too by lifting a just little more off the fretboard before sliding to the next position.

    Thanks Pete,

I had a hard time getting used to the steel strings. I played on it a couple of days to get rthe feel. but as you can tell I haven't spent much time on a folk guitar lately. It belongs to my brother-in law. I think it has a great sound. I believe its an Alverez.
About the string sqeaking, not too many people know about the finger lift technique you mentioned. It works and I should have had that in mind when I was playing. Many producers don't want that in their recordings. Excellent point to bring up and anyone not familiar with what you are talking about need to check into this if there is excessive noise in their guitar tracks.

    thank you Alan,

That jam popped into my head when i talking to steve last week. I tried it on my classical but the string bending didn't sound right. I don't have a folk guitar and I couldn't find one here in Missouri. When I got to shreveport my brother-in law had one in his living room. I snuck off into one of the bedrooms for an hour or so to figure out how i was hearing in my head.
The classical is just me playinmg with myself. So to speak.[sm=rolleyes.gif]Next year when I have more time I"ll make into a solo guitar thing.

    You sad cretin.

The guy is quite clearly a gifted musician you idiot.

If you could have been bothered to look past the end of your nose and read a little bit more and maybe engage in some sort of normal social interaction like normal people do you'd have realised that Bill hasn't played for a while but now he's just starting to get back into the swing again.

Telling a guy of his technical ability about his technique just shows what a complete twat you really are - you ain't fit to polish his plectrum you self-obsessed plonker.

Are you that inadequate that you can't even be just a little humble and say something nice about someone who's got more talent in his big toe than you'll ever have?

STEVE i HAVE THE FINGERBONE RHYTHM GUITAR PART FOR YOU. Play around with drums, bass and solos, then we can start putting Bill in where he wants and piece the song together. I have the lyrics now too. I want space for a 3 part harmony chorus atn the end but first things first. We can break up the rhythm part as needed.

A collab with Bill and Scrumpy? That would be funny. Bill would have to play "breakin the law" over and over again. Thats all Scrumpy knows how to play. (not counting the one or two punk covers) That could turn into a real "guitar ruckus"...
