One of the best "ruff" drafts that I have heard. I too liked that change at ~1:35. I am not familiar with MIDI guitars (I have enough trouble with the 6 string electrics), but you certainly have opened my eyes to the possibilities.
Very nice work!
Hello Freddy ,
I'm still chipping away at it one note at a time . it's sort of like the statue of David in the marble..
that's where the ruff comes in ….
I'm very pleased you liked what I'm doing here

Very COOL! Nice work! I Am a fusion lover so I Shirley love this! Skillful messing of classical and jazz! Thanks Kenny
Hello bayoubill ,
hhhmm, my tune is in Am …..i thought you might like that since it's a Coffee House thang.
I'm a fusion guy myself ...at least thats what I wanted to be as a guitar player at one point …
Yeah i still dig some Fusion …got a long list of cats I still enjoy listening to .
thank you for giving this a listen

Hi Kenny,
I love it when you get outside your usual bag. Given your level of harmonic development as a jazz player I think that you could apply some of that knowledge by being more daring with the root motions (staying away from the diatonic key-center cliches) and maybe using some of the more exotic modes in places (dorian #4,major b6, a weird altered pentatonic scale perhaps?).
Not to belabor the point too much, but here's a little "transformation" of your IV-V-vi progression (F-G-Ami): http://www.audiorecordingandservices.com/Kenny456.mp3 to give you an idea of how to render your piece unrecognizable ;-D
It's really a huge personal challenge to integrate your skill set in an unfamiliar context and I'm excited to catch a glimpse of where you're ultimately heading with this.

Hello jsaras,
I really dug your post a lot and I have given what you have said a lot of thought over the past few days
you know , the type of feedback you gave me is exactly the type of feedback I hope to get when I post a tune of my own that is not "the usual " ...
there was a time in my musical life when I had the opportunity to bounce ideas with some very accomplished musicians …I feel very lucky to have had that when I did …. I sure miss it now a days ….
Yeah , you gave me exactly what I needed to hear as far as stepping up goes musically and harmonicaly …..
I'm working on it …..might even post a raw track of what I have been working on in this thread ...
thank you
i needed the nudge

Love it Kenny. Especially where it transitions from the Renaissance Fair to Zappa.
Hello rwreynolds ,
I'm very happy that you loved my musical clip
I appreciate the kind words
Kenny
