Midi Pitch Bend foot pedal?
I have been searching for a Foot Pedal with a CENTER DETENT that will send midi Pitch Bend data out - one that will return to the center position on its own, similar to a Pitch Bend wheel. I want to use this for whammy-bar type action while using a midi guitar controller. Anyone have first hand knowlege of such a pedal? I have been Googling for weeks with no luck.

Doepfer makes some interesting DIY products: http://www.doepfer.de/we.htm What if you attached a short-throw midi controller ribbon, joystick or actual wheel to the guitar?

That is a good idea, you might have to build one. I've been wanting to do that for years with an analog wah pedal. I hate having to tense up my leg to get the action I want. I wish I could get a spring action wah that you only have to press down on and you can keep your heel on the floor. Like a gas pedal.

Doepfer makes some interesting DIY products That's perfect, Tom. Thanks. It's exactly what I was looking for, and it'll save me the hassle found in a pile of prototypes on my workbench. Reasonable pricing, too. I've been using two pedals, limited ranges, and reverse to accomplish this. A center detent is good for stereo guitar pan/balance position, too, but everyone, please ... Resist the temptation to pan at full depth!

I am surprised that with the number of midi guitar controllers around today and in particular, the still highly sought after and successful Ibanez IMG2010 with the virtual whammy bar (the only one ever made), that someone hasn't developed a pedal to emulate the virtual whammy bar.

Seems like it would be a pretty simple hardware DIY to affix a couple of counter balanced springs to wha pedal.
