I don't think I can explain it any better.  I find it difficult to understand how you can say you don't know what a beat is.  Maybe I'm wrong in assuming you have some musical training or experience playing some instrument?

In any case, the kick drum plays mostly on the beat but it does not play on every beat (there are several places where it skips two beats) and there is at least one place where it plays more than one time in one beat.  And of course there are the first 4 beats of the track where the kick drum does not play at all.

I know you have tried to explain it to me but I don't know music theory. I do play. All is by ear. Are notes between the grid on the beat ??

Perhaps I might have it. Its starts off with 4  pedal hit hats I count 1 2 3 4  =1 beat? I have it in my head and I play it automatically  all the time strange when you try to question something  you do automatically the brain gets confused.

Whoa. Looks like I missed the big party!

When I think a track has a steady tempo that can be snapped to the time ruler with a simple change to the initial tempo, I just listen to the track play back without a click and count...

1, 2, 3, 4   2, 2, 3,4   3, 2, 3, 4   4, 2, 3, 4...    ... 76, 2, 3, 4  77, 2, 3, 4

and then snap that last event to the last beat I counted. In this case, counting the whole thing was not necessary, because just counting up through the second fill and snapping the next kick to 7:01 did the trick. But since this doesn't always average enough beats to still be on target later on, I gave you the sure-fire way, which is to count the whole thing. If the tempo drifts in and out of that average, you can go back and snap intermediate points as necessary.

If you're ADD, and counting beats for three or four minutes is too much to bear, then you can try the shortcut of counting the first 8 or 16 bars.
