I had this happen to me once. I had to Restart and it came back. Dont think its cased by Track View: Options > Click Behavior > Left Click Locks Scroll. I have that turned off I seem to be having a lot of graphic issues with PRV. Velocity control lines vanishing when moving the mouse along them Ends of notes vanishing when moving the mouse to the right along them. Will go back to normal when going left with the mouse. When editing notes now time line can look broken.

I had the now time marker stuck around measure 1, no amount of starting and stopping play or clicking anywhere would get it to track the audio. I shut SONAR down and restarted and have not seen it or been able to duplicate it since.

for me, grabbing the bar at the top to show/hide the track overview inspector brings it back.

Hope this is going to be fixed in the next patch, as its getting really annoying. Having to restart X2 to bring the the now time line back! Not sure why this topic is marked as solved? where is the fix/solution then?

Can anyone reproduce steps as mentioned in post #10 ? If you're at Win 7, do indicate if your running Win 7 Aero or not. Thanks!

I too have had this happen a number of times... Being in the middle of work I had no time to try discovering why.... I simply saved my project, closed and re-opened Sonar and the project and the now time marker was back... I've checked all the system options mentioned in this thread and all is as it should be.... but the play cursor disappears at what seem (at this moment) to be random times... Keni

YES! Post 10 steps render the line and marker invisible on my system too. I seldom play with the windows that way so it's not usually an issue for me. However, it is a bug that should be fixed. Any resizing of the windows will bring back the line as will re-docking the floating view so it does appear to be a graphics issue. Steve

@Steve, thanks for confirming the issue. I have submitted the problem report. @Keni, the original OP problem was solved. But some of us experienced random Now Time missing. I discovered a way to make Now Time missing (due to one of my X1 project was saved with the Console window on top), but not sure if it's related to the OP.

At any rate, if your Now Time Line disappears, the solution seems to be re-docking or re-sizing any window or even changing to another screenset to get it back. AND... don't save your project with a maximized view over the main view. Steve

Opening an existing X1 project that happens to be saved this way enables reproducing the steps. In X1, this is not a problem. Just wanted Cake to be aware, it could be some drawing code that may help solved other random Now Time missing condition.

Yep the same just happened here, although it has done it intermittently in the past, now it seems like fixed behaviour - scroll bar is visible when playback is started but when the music goes beyond the edge of the clips view pane, the scroll bar disappears. I have disabled the "click" options as well, makes no difference.

Having the timeline stop scrolling is a different issue (and not a bug) from having the Now Time cursor disappear. Most likely you hit the Scroll Lock on your keyboard which stops scrolling independently of the Click Locks Scroll function.

Not solved. It's listed as a fix in X2a - "Now Time in X2 can disappear under certain conditions" but still randomly disappears on me and only closing and reopening the project will bring it back. Some seem to have success with toggling the inspector (I) to get it back.

Just to add to my post above - A PC re-boot does seem to fix it when it happens. And a re-boot is the ONLY action that does.

This happened so frequently with X2 that I decided to stop using it altogether. I hadn't been making much music anymore but decided to give it another go and so I bought X2 (shortly before X3 was released unfortunately) and an upgrade from Sonar 8.5 Producer. Obviously it takes some time to get used to the new version but I really got so annoyed by the Now time that went missing everytime, that at one moment I simply closed X2 and decided to spend my time more useful and forget about making music with it. This week I thought about installing X2 again but I immediately thought about this bug so I considered upgrading to X3 (even though that would be a waste of money spend on X2). But now I read X3 also has this problem. I think that if I am going to make music again, I will install S 8.5 instead... I think this also has to do with me getting a bit older and sick and tired of learning new things everytime LOL
Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's. Check out Soundclick
