I should also add, in my previous post i'm not trying to bash Sennheiser's or any other headphones. They simply didn't do their job for me but i do work with a few AE's that swear by them. Also make sure that whatever cans you get, to burn them in before coming to a conclusion about their sound quality because pre and post burn-in performance differ greatly.

Anybody know the difference between the AKG K 240 and the K 240 MkII?  The MkII is supposed to have lower impedance, but if you read the specifications they both have impedence of 55 ohms.  The K 240 is a little less expensive thand the K 240 MkII.

I've used AKG 240 Studio's for over 20 years. I know there is better out there, and a lot worse, but I know and love these.

I was actually looking for the Byer 770 (or other series) to audition. SA didn't carry Byer... GC supposedly  did (according to the web site anyway) but they were busy as all get out in the recording/software  section.... so I passed on that... I figure I'll stop in on a weekday  morning or something when all the musicians are at their day time jobs or still in bed asleep....

Then I can have the  time to check them out properly.

You get more the more you spend but spending $350 or even yes I seen some for $500 is too much for me. Call me cheap, but ear plugs from Bose (IE2 I think) is good enough for $99 where I bought them. And they sound better than the other headphones I ran into at that store, but then you would have to go on-line to a pro place to pick up something expensive.

I figure most people do not have the money to spend on stereos and mainly have sub-woofer computer speakers and having that 1-2% expensive equipment is only that many people in the world having such a system, and the rest, the main stream of people don't have it.

(luckily I bought my Nad Amp a long time ago, and yes I do really like it, and they still make a cheap one that people may buy and speakers, but then it is still easier to buy that cheap computer speaker stuff than anything else.)

Seems that many people base what they can "voice"is the best in sound engineering when it does not work, and promote quality. You need a flat response is not the best ring. Therefore, we compared the movie really does not help in the examination in the studio mixing. You can should't make your high or low, good sound quality, clear, they should do to make it sound like it actually.
