Thanks JB, I'll deliver the hug for you! thanks Mike & Barry! yeah, I know! I believe the reason she has neck problems now is because of the last accident she had where she was rear-ended about 14 years ago. Thanks Garry, I appreciate that and I'll keep an eye on her in the near term to see if I see any problems/

Oh man, Larry, I just don't know! I hope your daughter's doing OK! prayers lifted up for her as well! keep us informed!

thanks Jimmy! what happened to your drumming avatar? that was a cool pic! she's doing better and she went and picked up a rental car with her dad helping (while I was stuck in the dentist chair!). I reserved her an intermediate sized car and she comes home with a Camry! she won't like it - that's a huge car for her! but the rental place gave her the double upgrade probably because they didn't have any more intermediate or standard size cars left.

Wow. I just saw this. (I've been offline for awhile.) Sorry to hear about the accident. It sounds like she was protected from something that could have been much worse. Hope she gets some good rest. Let her take a little time to recover before you have her make your dinner tonight. (step 5 in the "Get Beagle Sent to the Doghouse" plan...)

Thanks Bob yeah, I think she'd like that! she's been working late most days, tho. I don't know what time she'll be home. her normal schedule is to get off at 4pm and then she's home by 4:30. if she works late, it might be 5:30 or 6:30 before she gets home. tell her to call her to make sure she's home. if she needs the phone number send me a PM.

Late reading this one...I'm sorry to hear about her misfortune but extremely glad she is ok. Those 4-way stops drive me nuts. People are unpredictable. Some of them either don't pay attention to or don't follow the rules. Breaking the rules on a message board is one thing, but breaking the traffic rules really burns me as this is usually what causes someone either an injury or death. I go through several 4-ways on the way home everyday and can't believe what some of those people do or don't do. *sigh* If only I could fly to work.

I know what ya mean, Tim. but if we could fly to work so could all of the idiots currently driving! just a few days ago we were going home and a police car was ahead of us nearing that same intersection. his brake lights came on 1/2 way thru the intersection when he realized what he did, then he promptly took his foot off of the brake and went on thru. no, he didn't have his lights or siren on - he just wasn't paying attention.

Glad she's ok. I had a similar accident a few years ago going to work. All I had to do was cross the street and I was home free at the office (we were located right on that corner). I was almost completely through the intersection and some dummy turned left into my Jeep's rear quarter panel. I was amazed at the amount of force involved in such a low speed accident. It took a chunk out of my shin the size of a nickel and the Jeep was in the shop for a over a month replacing the rear door, quarter panel, axel and door post.

Oh If I figure this out I won't be sharing the info with anyone beag ;) Hope the shin is ok now Mark. One minute it is an average day and the next who knows? And you were doing everything right to boot. I work around a university and the students totally disregard the crossing signs. I am concerned that one day I'll miss one in the blind spot. They really frown on running over people around here. I am starting to think something about me attracts cars. Seriously I think I'm a car magnet. Every time I get on the road someone coming the other way is slowly creeping into my lane. After they pass I look in my rear view mirror and they are in their lane again.

Crikey, if that SUV had hit the driver side it would have been tragic. Good to hear your wife is OK. I've had close calls like that several times in my life and was lucky to avoid them all. It's like I have this incredible superhuman instinct or as if an angel is protecting me and I hear voices in my head and urrr, ya' I'm sounding like I need a white padded room (enough said)!

thanks Pedro. she's doing OK today. not nearly as sore, but she sits at a computer all day for work, so usually after a few hours of that she starts getting sore again. as far as the accident: we didn't get the other drivers' information because as soon as I arrived I took her to the ER. The police officer gave me the report number and said that all of our information and the other drivers' information would be on the report. but...the report has to be picked up in person downtown fort worth. for $6. during their screwy business hours (Tue & Thur only 9-12, MWF 9-5). AND the report won't be available for about 14 days! so we're having to file everything thru our insurance and hope that our insurance will be able to collect from HER insurance! and we got Bev a rental car and I ordered an intermediate size car, but they didn't have any of those, so they gave her a "free" double upgrade to a full size car. they gave her a Camry with 400 miles on it. looks really nice, but she doesn't like it because it's too big. in order to get the size car we wanted, we have to wait until one of them gets returned, then we have to go exchange it immediately or they'll rent it out to someone else! the estimate to get her car repaired says it will take 18 days. that's IF they don't find any other problems. moral of this story: don't get hit by someone.
