These videos are suberb! I see the site itself is primarily focused towards PT users though. There's a lot more videos in that direction. I'm not complaining though. Maybe if we all sign up and buy maybe 1 or 2 videos and inform them of our platform we can get them to start focusing more on Sonar!?!? Got to get back to my (29 days left) "crash course" in Sonar 8.5, T-Racks, BFD2, and about 3 others before my time runs out!! Thanks drumr!!

Eli, VERY nice job on those videos. I learned so much in such a short period of time. Do you plan on an advanced X1 video? That would really round out the selection IMO. Thanks again for your efforts.

Eli Krantzberg Hey all, I'm just catching up with these Sonar X1 Explained threads. Thanks so much! I'm so glad you are all enjoying the videos! Eli Big round of applause, Eli. Really a job well done. Your command of the subject is astonishing. And I'm especially impressed by the way you make X1 look actually user-friendly, because so far, I don't find it to be that. When there are odd little programming bits in the program which seem like mistakes, or at least poor design choices, you do a great job of just simply showing the way it is and then moving on - Like when you point out that not all the same parameters are available in the track headers and the Inspector. Many of us are finding that a bit of a hassle, since it means bouncing back and forth between the two things to get at the controls we used to have in one location. And of course it's a bit unfortunate that you were working with a Beta of X1 when Audio Snap was actually functional, while in the release, it's broken. Things beyond your control. Thanks for the encouraging vids. Randy B.

BTW, in case you're reading this and it's news, the tutes can be saved. In Firefox, the Download Helper starts spinning, you just click it to save these as MP4s. I just got through saving the whole series of 45 vids in a folder. Very handy. Randy B.

footnote - For some reason, all of the tutes are downloadable as MP4s except #45, the final one. Someone brought that to my attention in a PM, and now after trying multiple times, I can confirm that there's something different about the last file which makes it impossible to save. OH well, you can get the rest and keep for future reference. RB

Do you plan on an advanced X1 video? I watched most of the X1 videos through my free pass from my Sweetwater upgrade. I think it's pretty good for the beginner but I too would like to see more advanced lessons, especially on the new features (Prochannel and it's internal routing, FX chain, delay compensation, etc.) Also, I noticed a couple shortcuts in the video don't match Sonar's cheatsheet list. Like "Show Only Selected Tracks", Groove3 says Ctrl-F and Sonar says CTRL-SHIFT-H, it's the 2nd that works.

I would have liked to saved the videos for future reference but I can live without subscribing again. Well dang, too bad you didn't do that--because you could save those tutes. Except, for some reason, the last one was in a different format or something, and couldn't be saved. It was good stuff, even though most of it was very preliminary and basic, sprinkled throughout were nifty things I didn't realize before. Now - if only everything shown in the video actually worked.--- it was an earlier version used in the vids, before AS was broken. And the host did an excellent job of skimming by the odd bits that are strange, like when he had to deal, extremely briefly, with how different parameters are available in the track headers and the inspector. Hey Randy, I would have loved to saved the tuts but i was not resourceful enough to make it happen. I would appreciate any PM that you might have which would put those files on my HD. I found out the hard way that even though everything looked good and possible, it was just not he case to be had since the later versions of X1 was different from the one that was used in the tutorials. The Cakewalk videos are great. If only Cakewalk could produce as fine tuts as Groove3 I would be extremely happy.

The Groove 3 vids are excellent. I have the X1, Kontakt and Studio One vids. I would give the Sonar X1 vid top billing followed closely by the Studio One vid. For those frustrated by the new interface, these vids go a LONG way toward smoothing things out.

groove 3 makes absolutely terrific vids They have gotten more money from me than the average, but kontakt, studio one, X1, reaper, SD, mixing....the list goes on! I love them frankly. You could do the 16.99 30 day or the 29usd 30 day "all access" but I have no idea what you own. All I know is that there is always something I didn't figure on being explained by them.....clear/specific. I doubt many people have been disappointed.
