Very interesting ways things motivate new writing and inspiration.  Yet, sometime we don't realize that the things right out our back door may be just the thing.

The only thing I felt seemed to distract was the cymbal crashes seem a bit harsh for the mix.  I'd suggest softening them just a bit and see if you can find a sample that might let them sustain just a bit longer.  That is just a suggestion as to what I feel from the material.

Great stuff!

Thanks for sharing,
Tom

Thanks for your listen, Tom.  I agree the cymbal crashes many here refer to as the "hissing of snakes" does appear to be problematic. Because of a lack of a decent drum plug-in to use, I resorted to using orchestral cymbals which I realize are suboptimal.

I put up a remix with what should be a reduced hiss version.
I would like to know if it is much better now???? Thanks for your inputs ....

Hi James, still an interesting tune, hadn't heard it with that sax, nice addition. I would limit the nature sounds to the intro and maybe bringing it back at the end. As it is now I find it to distracting especially as the volume seems to vary, sorry .

Greetings, Rik

Thanks Rik. I used a volume envelope on the nature sounds so that it should only be coming in at the beginning and at the end only? I'll have to revisit this when I get a chance.

Hi James,

I like the sax.  Nice addition.  There is still a lot of hiss.  It fluctuates a bit but still very much there.  Maybe use a filter?  or Spitfish de-esser?

I think if I get a chance, I'll try to post this without the nature sounds and see if it's coming from there or not. Thanks for the ears.

Well, that was certainly different.

Not my cuppa, but the recording is terrific.
