My New Sonar 7 and FW-1884

Well...I've done some extensive recording today and glad to say "IT WORKS".
I've not found anything as of yet that doesn't work on the FW.
All buttons, inputs, clocking, Edirol PCR M80, Transport and shuttle seem to work great.
Still have to test the Automation with the FW.

If you FW-1884 users haven't downloaded the Beta Ver_1.22 yet, you've got to.
Seems like it works better now than it did before or maybe it was the long wait that was bitter sweet.
I've not had any issues thus far.

Anyways, I have a big now.
Back to business with my, did I forget to mention my AWESOME Sonar 7 Pro.

Cake, I love ya man.

I mentioned in another thread about sticky fadders. Well, I was monkeying around with the drivers (don't know what I did)
but it's not an issue now. All is fine after a reboot. Hum... maybe it just needed a reboot!
I'll post if I find anything that doesn't work.

Hope this helps somebody.

Guy

Yes, as I posted last week, everything I need to do on the FW-1884 and SONAR 7 is working well. I was able to record automation using the faders just fine.

This is the beta driver provided by Frontier to Tascam. Someone on the forum posted it at rapidshare.

    Hi Folks,
It’s great to hear that there is a new plug-in even if it is only beta. I’m actually using the FW-1082, would anyone happen to know about a beta plug-in for it?

    Thanks

Hey, got the FW-1884 to work with 6.2 in xp! Uninstalled everything Tascam and Sonar and reinstalled it all with the new beta driver. In fact, I can now enable record automation which I wasn't able to do before at all.

I was finally able to get it done! However, there are still many functions that do not work:

Jog Wheel shuttle button does not light up
    Bank switching is inoperable

Has anyone got these functions to work with the new upgrade?

For bank switching to work, you must have enough tracks in the project. Try adding more than eight tracks and you should find that it does work. The shuttle button lights up for me. Make sure you have tracks with audio or midi; something to shuttle just like having enough tracks to make bank switching logical.

It works as I went and checked my control surface setup. YEAH! However, I have noticed another problem. When using the shuttle wheel within Sonar, it sometimes lags or gets locked altogether when moving through measures. Is there a solution for this?

I'm running the FW-1884 with Windows XP SP2 (32 bit) and SONAR 7.01.

So far, everything seems to be OK with the new 1.60 driver from the European site, and the Frontier Design 1.22 SONAR beta driver that was sent to a user.

Neither of these Tascam drivers is on the USA Tascam site. Wonder why, indeed.
